Just in case nobody's posted this:

    GONE IN 60 SECONDS
    Original Motion Picture Score

    Music Composed by Trevor Rabin

One of the blockbuster films of the summer (with a now almost $100 million box office!), GONE IN 60 SECONDS featurs one of the most driving (pardon the pun) and exciting scores of the year. Composer Trevor Rabin, lead guitarist of the legendary rock group YES, has created a rock instrumental extravaganza featuring haunting wordless vocals and screaming guitar solos. Demand for this disc began the moment the film hit theaters and now, finally, this blistering music is available on CD.

In the film a retired car thief (Cage) agrees to lead his gang (Angelina Jolie, among them!) one last time to take on the challenge of stealing fifty cars in a single night to save his brother's life (Giovanni Ribisi). The film also stars Robert Duvall and was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (ARMAGEDDON, DAYS OF THUNDER, COYOTE UGLY, etc., etc.)

GONE IN 60 SECONDS is a high-octane, glistening-chrome blur that races through the streets of Los Angeles at lightening speed.

For those who love the thrill of a fast car, there may be no better music to drive to!

And since it's a Verese release, it will be subtitled "Music Gone in 30 Minutes."

It might be only 30 minutes because the promo has 9 tracks and is only little over 30 minutes long

I'll be the lone detractor to venture into this thread and say...

    booo!!!!! hiss!!!

we get this crud while Wonder Boys has to wait for 6 months. Fooey!

Now back to our regulary scheduled MV-inspired love fest...

I remain convinced that WONDER BOYS is deliberately delayed because of the October theatrical rerelease of the film ... not that I think that's a good reason. (You can already find four-dollar copies of the song soundtrack in the various bins.) Hey, feel pity for the MV pups, they'll have had to wait all summer for their Rabin fix!

    NP: HOLLOW MAN just ended

Crud? I think not! Gone In 60 Seconds is a perfect action score! It stays intense through out the entire thing. I'd give this CD 100 stars out of 5. A Must have!

I wouldn't say 100 out of 5... that's a little drastic... I mean, if we're on that kind of scale, what kind of ratings do obvious masterpieces like Superman and Raiders get? 20,000 out of 5? That would be my calculation... and while I'm a sucker for MV stuff, I wouldn't rank any of it amongst such greats as the ones mentioned above. I doubt Gone in 60 Seconds is one that will break down all the barriers and defy all the odds, though I'll definitely be picking it up when it is released. I'm glad it will be.

Shaft... I really just do not care much about if it gets a release or not. it was nice for what it was, basically, a 70s soundtrack.
nothing real memorable, and certainly nothing that hadn't been done 25 years ago. I'm pretty indifferent to this one.

I was going to post here, but JJ summed it up so eloquently (and hilariously!), I have no reason to be here.

100 stars out of 5. Get outta here!

I'm with JJH. Boooo Hisssss. Bad movie. Silly score. Maybe the music's better with out the car engines blotting it out but I doubt it. You tell'em JJH.
