If you ever wondered what Goldsmith would sound like in a Kungfu flic this 1996 midling sequel is tracked with actiony bits from Forever Young, plus some fairly okay synth knockoffs (presumably by the staff composer) with passable Goldsmithy syncopations and staccato hits (they're better than [deleted] knockoffs anyway). When the young upstart puts on his traditional monkey king make-up Goldenthal's Interview With The Vampire cranks up. Later some True Lies shows up, proving that nobody really knew what they were doing. Movie is diverting, nothing to bring into the same sentence with the 1993 Iron Monkey. Donnie Yen always seemed lacking in essential movie star charisma to me, though of course his Kungfu is excellent. Maybe he just needs to go for becoming the Harvey Keitel of WuShu.

Around 12 years ago I saw a karate/kung fu movie on TV late one night. It was tracked with several different scores including Nevada Smith, Coma and others. Best, John.
