Just read over at FSM that Warner Bros. Records Japanese branch-WEA is going to be releasing Twilight Zone:The Movie on cd for the first time on August 23rd.Also on the same day they are going to re-issue Goldsmith's excellent score to Under Fire.Up until this point I have had to listen to this great score on an LP,and Twilight Zone:The Movie all I have is a less than great sounding boot.So I personally can't wait to get my hands on these when they become available.[This message has been edited by Matthew (edited 07 July 2000).]

Great news indeed, but does this mean they'll only be available as imports? I've been wanting Under Fire for quit a while now.NP: Mission: Impossible rejected - "Good Morning, Mr. Phelps" ****/***** (I just cannot get enough of this score! I wish Silvestri had written more before having it rejected, and I wish I could hear him do the M:I theme!)

Both scores are favorites of mine by Goldsmith, so I'm thrilled that their being made available on CD.[This message has been edited by Rang (edited 07 July 2000).]

Great news!I'm glad somebody from WB finally noticed that the Under Fire disc had enough demand to be re-released (and for TZ: The Movie to see a real release)!
How expensive are these CDs going to be for us folks here in the USA? I'm assuming Intrada/Screen Archives will carry them.

No doubt when it's released there will posts of "why does this have to cost $30?" Trust me. Under Fire is worth EVERY PENNY (hell, I might even pay MORE!).Shaun

UNDER FIRE is a masterpiece; TWILIGHT ZONE is excellent. I never understood why Warners in Japan, which released the original UNDER FIRE CD in the first place, did not turn their attentions to TWILIGHT ZONE earlier. (I heard the Overture on Japanese cable radio once. They have a whole system of cable radio, consisting of hundreds of channels, at least one of which is devoted entirely to film music. It happened to be dialed up in the sitting room of the inn I was staying at one time.)The Japanese seem to have more genuine interest in, and respect for, film music than any other people in the world. Even if they ARE about ten years late in putting out TWILIGHT ZONE!
NP: nothing, but UNDER FIRE is right over there ... as is my CDR of the ZONE ...

I share in Jeron's excitement!

Now I can drop my Under Fire cd and not think I've damaged a priceless artifact. Would be sweet if the reissue is remastered and cleaned up, the old one was kind of muffled. The vinyl record is spectacular. Can't wait for the new Witches of Eastwick reissue to cut into some bootleggers' spending money.Vote at elmerbernstein.com for your favorite missing Bernsteins, and get the Eames collection.

This reminds me of a funny story.
I have the japanese "UNDER FIRE" since a long time. One day I was lurking into a small store in a mall which was always selling CDs for no more than 5 bucks... Guess what I found that day???YES, "UNDER FIRE" JAPANESE CD, STILL SEALED! FOR 5 BUCKS...!!
I just bought it and sell it for a store which is specialized in scores for... $70!
Hehehehe... lucky bastard I am!!

Is mlw blindfolding us and then making a dramatic exit worthy of the best thespian, or is he serious about EASTWICK? I'd be more than pleasantly surprised and ecstatic if he is indeed giving forth the truth ...Or, is he simply taking a deserved punch at those bootleggers?

And just a week ago I got my copy of the TZ: TM boot! Bad timing or what? Well, at least I only paid a pittance for it. And I'd much rather see a release of The Swarm than Eastwick... I mean, I already have my copy of Eastwick...a soundtrack I've played maybe about 7 times in the past 13 years. So, everybody, say after me: THE SWARM, THE SWARM, THE SWARM...

Alan Silvestri arranged a version of Schifrin's Mission Impossible theme that is available on the Telarc album The Big Picture featuring the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra conducted by Erich Kunzel. The track runs 1:33.

The M:I theme was also done by McNeely and the Scots in '96. BUT---the Kunzel version is slightly better, so I don't even know why I bothered posting this.Shaun
