What's up??? I'm chillin' here in Nashville, Tennessee with Cole! That's right, our very own Cole from Moviemusic.com. This is my first time to every come to Nashville, so it's a pretty special deal to me. I just wanted to take a few moments to reflect on how much Moviemusic.com has contributed to my personal life.Cole and I have been friends for about 3-4 years now... but this meeting would probably have never happened if PeterK hadn't been so committed to providing us a place to meet. Yeah, that was back in the Movietunes.com days... I lost touch w/ Cole after the "move," and, if many of you can remember, we had a pretty happy reunion here just about 6 or 7 months ago (maybe less). When Cole picked me up from the airport, it was like seeing an old friend... but for the first time. Pretty exciting - and weird at the same time. Things couldn't be better, as we are having a blast! We went cd hunting yesterday (where better else, than in a city where music is so woven into the culture and history?). Cole and I agreed to pick out each other's purchases... and as you can imagine, I made sure he had plenty of Goldsmith in hand. Aaron Collins will appreciate the fact that I picked up both Interview with a Vampire, The Red Violin, and Phantom of the Opera (Morricone)... all of which I probably wouldn't have purchased w/ out Cole being there to influence my decisions. And hey, it's a small price to pay... he got more Goldsmith out of the deal, and that's all that matters!

Next month, I'll be traveling with my parents to Los Angeles for the John Williams concert at the Hollywood Bowl. I can't wait! I will finally get to meet my friend, Scott Calhoun - which I've also been waiting for forever. Hopefully, I'll see a bunch of you there! It's going to be incredible. On top of that, I've been invited to "meet the gang" at Media Ventures - which will be utterly amazing. My friend, Steve (assistant to HGW) invited me - and I just can't explain how excited I am.
On the other hand, I've got something very special coming up on the 9th of THIS month... Bruce Broughton is coming to Dallas w/ a concert that is sure to knock the socks off everyone in attendance! He'll be performing many pieces, including themes from Silverado, Lost in Space, Miracle on 34th Street, and you got it... Young Sherlock Holmes!! What is even more special, is that my parents, my grandmother, and one of my best friends are coming along. I'll get to meet Jonathan (another HUGE Broughton fan from MM.com), along w/ hopefully Marc Flake and a couple other of you guys.
I tell ya, I can barely keep still. Literally, I'm about to burst at the seams w/ excitement!! These are moments that I've DREAMED of - and I NEVER dreamed they'd come true... but by some incredible miracle, they are! WOW.
Peter, (geeesh, I'm listening to Edelman's "Dragon," and a really soft, emotional cue just came on... I think I'm gonna cry.... really... lol). Peter - man, you've created a great place that has continually rewarded me w/ great things. Perhaps you didn't intentionally mean to, but undoubtedly, you've directly contributed to it all. I mean, I wouldn't get to talk to these wonderful people on phone and via the internet if I hadn't have met them. And you guessed it, I wouldn't have met them without this messageboard. Thank you so very much - though some might not realize it, this is an incredible gift you have given us.
Alright... gosh, wow. I hope everyone has a great July 4th. You guys are the greatest!
Your friend,
JeronPS - Jonathan, please e-mail your #'s again so I can call you about Broughton tickets ASAP... I need to know which performance we are going to, and I need to know if you would like us to get your ticket and meet up somewhere so that we can sit together. My mom is wanting to get tickets tonight! And actually, she's got the first four rows scoped out for the 2:00 performance... Which means great seats are still available. I'd love to be that close.

Ditto. And Jeron, buddy, this is the first John Williams concert I will be going to where my focus has changed from the anticipation of listening and seeing the master to meeting a great friend and his family.
I also will be meeting Norman McCay. Truly, truly there is a God. And He is good.
