North is a composer whose work I greatly admire. I like nearly everything he did. The CD of Misfits is very good and one of my favorites by that label so far. All the new music is great. I noticed that the extended 14 min cue is very good with lots of great action music. The cue on the old LP(last cut) is very different from the corresponding cue on the CD. The last part of cue is different. I like both. The jazz version of the theme I am talking about. Superb. Great score to a plodding somewhat slow film. Good acting, but slow. Take care, John.

    Yes, The Misfits is wonderful.

Has anyone heard the import CD of
North's "Bite the Bullet" that was
recently released? I'm curious about it.

I have a tape of the old LP. It was nominated for an AA, but I didn't like it too much myself. One of the few by him I didn't like. He has much from Cheyenne Autumn and others mixed in and sounds very derivative from his earlier scores. Still waiting for someone to do the Penitent(1987). The piece for the walk up the hill carrying the cross is tremendous. Powerful stuff. Best, John.

Valere, I see you are over here too. Welcome. Yes, I like all those also. The Shoes of the Fisherman is excellent too. All the additional music in Spartacus is great and I love the old Capitol LP release of Agony. Far superior in music quality over the Varese CD. Release that on CD too. The cues in Spartacus that I really like are near the end of the film. All the other battle music, fanfares and music for Crassus on the way, new plans and the confrontation with Spartacus at end. All great. John.
