Atmospheric indie-film genius. Favorite works? Mine are Fargo, Barton Fink, and Rob Roy. Any other good examples would be greatly appreciated.

Didn't we do this topic not too long ago?

"Conspiracy Theory." I love it. As soon as I heard it in the movie, I knew I had to buy the CD.

His stuff with the Coen brothers is great, also The Spanish Prisoner.

I LOVE the single piece of score from Kalifornia. The soundtrack is a song album, with just one track for Burwell. Anyone knows whether is there a score release? Anyway, the movie is kinda old and underrated. It was one of Brad Pitt and David Duchovny's earlier works.

The cue is cool and I usually play it when I'm driving on the highway on a hot afternoon (anyway, the movie is based on travelling along the highway).

I think Rob Roy is my absolute favorite Carter Burwell score.I bought that score when I was 12 and have loved it ever since.

Burwell is one of the best. Favorites include Miller's Crossing, Blood Simple, Fargo and the unreleased The Jackal and The Spanish Prisoner.

The Jackal is my favorite score (I't not on CD AAHHH) and I am hoping The General's Daughter is a good one. That comes out on June 15th

I´m not very familliar with Burwell´s other scores (maybe I should be?) other than The Jackal. It is a powerfull score with a great theme, but unfortunately it does´nt quite work on screen and is VERY repetitive.
I think he can do better than that, am I right?

I enjoyed the Jackal when I saw the movie, but I decided I didn't like it that much. Besides, the movie was aweful. Why remake a classic?

To me, Fargo was his all time best, but I'm looking forward to the General's Daughter, the samples I heard are pretty good.
