    Grusin's "St. Elsewhere" . . . Goldsmith's "Police Story" . . . Nelson Riddle's "Route 66" (already mentioned by SBD above).

And since I grew up watching all these, I've gotta mention "Checkmate," "The Defenders," "Rawhide," "Cheyenne," "Bronco," "Sugarfoot," "The Rebel," "Maverick," "Laramie," "Wagon Train," and "The Deputy."

Trivia note: Elia Cmiral did the original score opening to "Nash Bridges," which was used the entire first season before being replaced by the song "I Got A Friend In You," which is still pretty cool. You can listen to both by going to www.nashbridges.com, clicking on "FAQs," then selecting the question that says (along the lines of) "Who sings the opening title song, and what are the lyrics." I suggest you check out Elia's theme.

I've been there, and it's VERY good. Loads in a flash, and has a nice South American pan-pipe feeling to it (think UNDER FIRE with a drum machine). You won't be sorry, gentlemen (and the occasional lady).

Another mention for a show I've just started watching, "18 Wheels of Justice," 9:00PM on TNN's action Wednesday. Don't know the name of the compser, but it's a very cool guitar piece.

    Hi Kevin,

Jerry Goldsmith has written many great TV themes, but the theme to the old VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA TV show was by Paul Sawtell. It was taken from Irwin Allen's original feature movie that Sawtell scored.

Paul Sawtell worked on almost all of Irwin Allen's TV shows and all (or almost all) of his theatrical movies until Sawtell's untimely death back in 1970. Sawtell and Allen were very close.

Changing the subject slightly, I've always liked Les Baxter's whistled LASSIE theme and the music he wrote for that series and the title tunes to THE FLINTSTONES and THE JETSONS that Baxter also wrote. Those are sometimes miscredited to Hoyt Curtin, but it was Baxter who wrote them. Hoyt Curtin was the musical director of the shows, but he only wrote some of the music.

Well, I haven't really looked at others replies, but I must say I love:

    Mission: Impossible
    The A-Team
    The Flash
The Adventures of Batman and Robin (animated)

Among current shows, I like the wacky FUTURAMA tune by Christopher Tyng. He seemed an unlikely choice for the project -- I was expecting another Elfman -- but he got the job based on his audition tape, which consisted of -- that same theme!

    Hello everybody.
I just register to this board.
Reading the topics I saw that two very important themes are missing.
Just to ring a bell I'm talking about:

    THE PROFESSIONALS (Laurie Johnson)
    and
    THE UNTOUCHABLES (Nelson Riddle)

    Cheers.
