Desert Chase (Raiders of the Lost Ark) John Williams.

    followed by
The O.K. Corral (Tombstone) Bruce Broughton
Futile Escape (Aliens)+ Escape from Tavern (Willow) both James Horner
Pilot Over (Rambo II) Jerry Goldsmith

    The Forrest Battle (Jedi) Williams

    oh, there is so many.....

Then again, nobody asked me to do this <g>

I agree with Wolfie for Pilot Over from Rambo 2, and since he mentioned more than 1, I would like to add in:

    1. The Rock (80% - 90%) are adrenaline pumping music!
    2. Drop Zone - Too Many Notes Not Enough Rests (Track 7)
    3. Face/Off - Furniture (Track 3)
    4. Waterworld - about half of the score is action
    5. Armageddon - Evacuation (Track 6)

There are so many darn good action cues, so it's hard
for me to pick what I feel are the best. These cues
keep your heart pounding, and you can sometimes feel like
you're the one flying an FA-18, or hanging on to the legs
of a helicopter, or climbing under a moving truck. So
    here they are...

-"T-Rex Rescue and Finale" JURASSIC PARK
-"Visitor in San Diego" THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK
    -"Base Attack"
and "The Day We Fight Back" INDEPENDENCE DAY
-"It's Only Gold/End Credits" CUTTHROAT ISLAND
    -"Attack of the Batwing" BATMAN
-"Zoom A" and "Zoom B" MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE
-"Desert Chase" RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK
    -"The Battle of Stirling" BRAVEHEART
    -"Charging Fort Wagner" GLORY
-"The Battle for Peace" STAR TREK VI
    -"Gotham City Boogie"
    and "Batterdammerung" BATMAN FOREVER

Ooh... so many to choose from...

"The Battle" from CutThroat Island (John Debney)
"The Walls Are Whispering" from Merlin (Trevor Jones)
"Night Battle" from First Knight (Jerry Goldsmith)
"Raisuli Attacks" from The Wind And The Lion (Goldsmith)
"Asteroid Field" from The Empire Strikes Back (Williams)

Of course, that's not a "single" best action cue, but I can't decide on a single...and there are plenty more I didn't include in my short list. Hmm...

    James
    NP - Merlin

    Here's my long list:

    Zoom A & B (Mission:Impossible)
    Run, Shoot, and Jump (Goldeneye)
    Charging Fort Wagner (Glory)
    White Train (Showdown) (Desperado)
    Backseat Driver (Tomorrow Never Dies)
    Autobot/Decepticon Battle (Transformers: The Movie)
    Streetfighting Van Damme (Hard Target)
    Force Marker (Heat)
    Burn It All (Backdraft)

But the big winner is ... Rockets Away (The Rock)
