Well just imagine what the Evil Twins (Roland and Dean) would do to it ... ("notthatthere'sanythingwrongwiththat," as they said on SEINFELD)

I am amazed that dantoris does not appreciate the charms of Catherine Zeta-Jones, but (shrug) different tastes. Although, frankly, she is (to my eyes) just too runway-model beautiful to play a realistic Nova. I never thought Linda Harrison was a great actress (who could!?), but you could halfway believe this wan figure as the character she was supposed to be, even though she was mostly incapable of putting across very much. (Did you read Heston's original journal notes about her? He wrote that she seemed to be having first-timer problems, and that director Schaffner was doing his best to shoot and cut around her.)

Mrs. Kinsinger's choice of Angela Bassett for Nova is an interesting one; unless she's porked up lately, she certainly still has the arms for it. I suspect Bonita will wish to punch me in the face for this assertion, but I do think Ms. Bassett is too old for the role ... I'd pick an unknown, myself. (Or a relatively-known, like Ming Na-Wen. She's just calling herself Ming now, I understand.) (Paradox: Bassett is a way better actress than Ming, but the role of Nova doesn't exactly demand much in the way of acting chops. Unless they redefine the character entirely. She had more to do in BENEATH, for God's sake! Well, Taylor needs somebody to talk to who isn't an ape, so I'm sure we'll be seeing her or somebody like her.)

Wouldn't Emma Thompson be the most perfect Zira? ... Although Kim Hunter is still alive, how could we tell that she's pushing eighty under all that makeup?

NP: THE MUMMY (by some guy who may have done other things, I hope so, this is quite tuneful)

Forgive me for reopening old wounds, but who else is on this LIST of yours?

It would take a while to list all of them, but here's some examples (in no order):

Sharon Stone (except for in Above the Law and Total Recall)
    Katie Holmes
    Thandie Newton

    Okay. Let the stone-throwing begin.

    I had to laugh at that. I like women . . .

. . . just the attractive ones, though. And here they are!

not too shabby ... I'd have expected you to think more highly of Jennifer Lopez, though (although she seems like she'd be a nightmare to actually hang out with, whereas Salma Hayek does not.) Oh well, we quasi-agree there.
