What are some really good epic sci-fi scores, with many themes, or just an overall "large" feeling to them? (i.e. Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, etc.)NP: Battlefield Earth - "The Dome" *****/*****

Are you sure any epic scores have been written for sci-fi pictures? I was sure that all of them were done with synthesizers, it was like a rule or something, it made it sound more "spaceeeeey."NP: STAR WARS (some action picture done by some guy, it's not bad, is it true there were sequels?)

Toto's Dune.
Silvestri's The Abyss.

CHERRY 2000 is nominally a science-fiction movie, and Basil Poledouris' score is big and wonderful.I love MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, but have never caught up to the Expanded version. (I had to sell the Varese OST long ago, for grocery reasons.)
