Anybody out there know anything about the 65+ minute boot on Soundtrack Library? Specifically, how's the sound quality? Stereo or mono? Thanks.

    Hey Brad,
I've got it and it sounds pretty crappy. Just as crappy as the rest of Soundtrack Library's "releases". I have another version of it, but it's nowhere near complete and it's all bunched up (if you've heard "The Rocco Files", you've heard how that version sounds).

    Hey Shaun you magnificent bastard,

do they combine the unreleased stuff with cues from OST-LP, or is it all from horrendous secondary sources?

The 30 track Soundtrack Library boot is just 66 minutes of poor quality sound. The 2CD one I've got (not advertising, just telling) is about 80 minutes, but I swear there is missing music on here that was on the original soundtrack album. Oh well. And all the tracks are grouped together into 10 minute suites, so that's even more annoying.

Brad, list boots that you have and what you think of the sound quality and I'll be able to answer your question easier.

There ARE tracks on the soundtrack LP that differ noticeably from those in the film. I'm guessing it's another of those Warner Bros. rerecording deals, like CAPRICORN ONE from the same year, and UNDER FIRE a few years later.

    Shaun,
I have a boot of the original tracks for EYE OF THE NEEDLE which borders on being really bad, CAPRICORN ONE (originaltracks) which is acceptable since it's in stereo, and FIRST CONTACT and GREMLINS which are average. However, these are all CDRs made by a veeeeeeeery good friend who made copies from copies, etc....

Well, it's like First Contact. That's the closest I can come with what you picked.
