Can someone supply the track listing for the season 3 promo for Buffy. The episodes they are from would be helpful too.

    Thanks in advance.

They're releasing more music for this show!? Ugh! Why can't the good shows that have good music get a CD release!?

Now what could Dantoris have against the Emmy winning music of a Vampire Slayer?

Until and unless Beck gets a commercial release, we're stuck with the promos. Here is season 3:

    1.Deliverance (ANNE) 2:49
    2.Tai Chi (BAND CANDY) 1:18
    3.Sugar High (BAND CANDY) 1:54
    4. Loneliness of six (LOVER'S WALK) 1:52
    5.Bizzaro Sunnydale (THE WISH) 2:03
    6.Blood Machine (THE WISH) 2:30
    7.Slayer's Elegy (THE WISH) 1:49
    8.Dublin, 1838 (AMENDS) 1:10
    9.Dreaming Of (AMENDS) 1:45
    10.Magic Snow Music (AMENDS) 3:29
    11.Betrayal (HELPLESS) 1:10
    12.Kralik's House (HELPLESS) 3:46
    13.A Father's Love (HELPLESS) 1:55
14.Dead Guys With Bombs (THE ZEPPO) 3:07
    15.Alt. Willow (DOPPELGANGLAND) 3:37
    16.Into the Mayor's Lair (CHOICES) 3:20

    I'll add 17-26 when I get a chance.

The music, like the show itself, has never impressed me. God knows I've given both plenty of chances, but I just can't see the big deal about either of them.

Well, I've been getting the music for someone else. But of course, I will be keeping them, coz I find it better than Star Trek's music!

But it NEVER beats Babylon 5!

Hmmmmm. Did I say "Buffy sucks!" or "Beck writes crappy music," which would be knocking the show? Actually, I believe, if I recall right, I said, "God knows I've given both plenty of chances, but I just can't see the big deal about either of them."

Dantoris, you wrote that. Funny, I don't recall L.A. Heat garnering any Emmy attention.

Or USA Today's top ten list....
Or Entertainment Weekly's top ten list...
Or having any cast member win an MTV Movie Award...

Actually, I wasn't trying to knock anyone, we all have diferent tastes and everyone has their own guilty pleasures. I think Beck does some amazing stuff on a tv budget, and I don't think there was a better hour of television last season than the HUSH episode.

I just thought it was funny a guy using a vampire name dislikes a show about a vampire slayer.

Just because a show doesn't get Emmy attention doesn't mean the music isn't good. L.A. Heat by no means has the music ever produced, but why don't we get a Brisco County Jr. CD, or Batman: The Animated Series.

The thing about Buffy is that it tries to be too many things at once: horror, comedy, action, adventures, teen angst, etc. It tries to blend too many genres, and fails because of it. If it would just pick one area and stay, perhaps it and the music would be good.

Oh, well. Too each his own.

Ah, but Dantoris, life IS comedy, horror, action, adventure and teen angst. Which is why Buffy succeeds for me. Doesn't try to say life is all laughs or life is way too serious. Every ep is a metaphor, which I like, makes me think. AND I can't think of another show that'd have a character say, "Does anyone else here feel like they've been Keyser Sozed?" and expect that the audience will get it.

And when's the last time you heard carillon bells used in a TV score? Or a Persian singer (played backwards). I like to see a composer stretch & experiment, to be given opportunities to do that and to capitalize on them.

But. You are entirely right that lack of Emmy recognition doesn't mean the music isn't good--certainly Batman: the Animated Series was grossly overlooked.
