Just caught this movie on TV again, and reflected on the disappointment of no score release for this one--probably because the film was never released into the theaters as planned. Trevor Jones' music is the highlight of the film, and it incredibly beautiful.Agree, disagree?
Was there ever a promotional release for this one, or is that too much to hope for?posted 06-19-2000 04:41 AM PT (US)

Jonesī score is absolutely great, have to agree on that. Unfortunately there was no score release in any form, I donīt think even a bootleg exists. The main theme is available on a boot of Jonesī other themesNP-The Neverending Story 2 ****/*****

I agree with you Lancelot. I just rented this film last week and adored the score. Now I read that it isn't available. Shucks!
(I wonder... If I stood outside of Wal Mart, would people sign a petition to issue this CD?

Hey guys, I remember someone saying in an earlier thread back in February that Prometheus (Belgium) was considering a release for Loch Ness. However, nothing was official. Let's keep hoping.NP - Gladiator *****/*****

Opinions needed!Having never seen the movie, would you say that it is worth renting - or even owning? I am a great fan of Trevor Jones' work, but it would be very nice to know if the movie itself justifies a rental. Reviews, please!

Thanks....and if you're worried about being off-topic, you cab e-mail me....
NP: THE BLUE MAX 5/5* perfect scoring for its movie & still a thrill to listen to.....

Great score indeed. There's a suite on Jones' boot from GI Jane.Ed, it was I that said something about Prometheus considering a release. I'll see if I can get some more info. I know the owner of Prometheus personnally. The problem with Loch Ness might be that they won't get out of production costs if they should ever release it. They do know that it's a great score.

I am sure that Jones' score for this is good, although I have not heard it. By the way, the '80s Loch Ness movie I saw was so bad. It was a big green balloon like in the Macy's Day Parade. Really lousy. It bent down and bit a guy on the shoulder and he was there screaming and this baloon was just sitting on his shoulder with lots of catsup squirting everywhere. Really funny. John.

Hi Mark. Since this movie is several years old (1997?), you can probably rent it for less than $2.00, and it is worth it. Great movie? Nope, just average. But it is worth the rent to see the lovely scenery and listen to the great musical themes. I would rewind and listen to several themes when I rented it. Average movie heightened by a wonderful score.NP Supergirl, signed!
