    OK.

There's a new poster in the theater where I work. It's for a Cheerleading movie. That is, a movie about the fascinating and what is sure to be dramatic world of cheerleading. The film stars Kirsten Dunst from the great Virgin Suicides and Eliza Dushku, Faith from Buffy. The poster (which also has a nice, fuzzy shot of Eliza in the background shaking her "thing" in cheerleading regalia) also had the composer listed. None other than Christophe Beck of Buffy and Angel faim. (cue Twilight Zone music) They were the only three names that I recognized. Does anyone have any more information as to why two incredibly talented actresses would take roles in a movie about something like cheerleading?

I can see the plot now:

girl wants to become a cheerleader
    girl tries out
girl doesn't make it, is made fun of by popular cheerleader
girl is determined to make it
    girl meets boy
girl falls in love with boy
girl loses boy to popular cheerleader
girl is now more determined to make it, to win him back
girl works hard to perfect her style
    girl tries out again
    girl makes the team
girl gets boy, decks popular cheerleader in front of team
    girl kisses boy
cue Backstreet Boys song as credits roll

Think that about covers it, hu?

You forgot the part where everybody dies in the freezing waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
