I just purchased a butt-load of scores and have yet to listen to them all or they just haven't arrived yet. I am curious about what ya'll think of them. DANTE'S PEAK - The movie is alright I guess. I really like the "theme" for the score. FACE OFF - I listened to this one a bit and it's pretty good!! I hated the film though!! FOR YOUR EYES ONLY - Not really enjoying this one so far... HIGH SPIRITS - Well I really enjoy this movie now and again (I'm prolly the only one huh?) Haven't heard the score yet. LAST ACTION HERO - Love Kamen for the most part. THE LAST STARFIGHTER - 80's cheese anthems...it's ok takes me back a little. MARY REILLY - This one was an ok film. Haven't listened to it yet. THE MASK - I honestly can't remember the music from this film. MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE 2 - I guess there's another post with this score alone. My fave Zimmer score is SMILLA'S SENSE OF SNOW. Thanks in advance for your input!! [This message has been edited by meegle (edited 16 June 2000).]

Face/ Off is an awful CD. except for the main theme in the first track. to John Powell for this score.Mary Reilly, to borrow from Carter Burwell, is a 'Exercise in Darkness.' It'll take some getting used to, but it is wonderful dark music. give it a chance. NP -- la Leggenda del Pianosta sull'Oceano<-- someone sent me the Italian import out of the blue. Seriously, who sent it? I didn't order it, not that I'm complaining here....

Good job!I love "The Last Starfighter" by Craig Safan. Very stylish and way cool anthems. Although there is very little besides the main theme. It's still a nice well-rounded piece. A little side note: It was written for an expanded orchestra with 6 trumpets and 6 trombones. You can definately hear it For Your Eyes Only is typical Bond with a Rocky sound...IE Bill Conti mixed with John Barry. Not bad for the series...although I still prefer the Barry/Arnold sounds. NP - Superman "Prologue and Main Title" (John Williams) I'm SOOOOOOOOO glad they finaly released this version. Sounds so much more complete, and I love the way it builds up to the march. Face/Off has it moments, but it still does not live up to my expectations. Tracks 1, 3, and 8 are the only ones I listen to. Overall an ok, average CD, from my opinion.

You know, it's funny you mention the Abyss sounding like something Camillu, because Jeron pointed out to me a few weeks ago, how much it sounded like Brainstorm by Horner. When I heard samples of the two, they were almost identical.

The only one I could possibly see you playing in its entirety more than twice would be HIGH SPIRITS.
