Another post brought my attention to a possible release of Breakheart Pass by Ryko. So, I emailed Ryko last night and received this prompt response after asking them if a disc was planned:quote:
From: Ali Friedman <Ali.Friedman@Rykodisc.com>
To: jonl@i...
Subject: FW: Breakheart Pass
Date: Fri, 16 Jun 2000 11:21:28 -0400Possibly. No release date, no other info available at this time.
I guess possibly is better than "no."

Hey Jonathan, why don't you Email Ali Friedman at Ryko and say "Hey, Ali! Are frogs gonna come flyin' out your butt tomorrow at noon?"See if she answers "Possibly."

... hoping for what? the frogs ("possibly") or BREAKHEART PASS? I kind of doubt the former would ACTUALLY happen, but would hope for a videotape ... should such a thing happen, I WOULD want proof ...NP: THE VANISHING (composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith, yet somehow not released by Ryko) (I've told you before the story of why there was no album for this one ...)

Yep, reminds me of Frogs with Ray Milland and Sam Elliott in the dynamite film of frogs and friends attacking the world for polluting the swamp. Another A-1 classic. Best, John.

Oh yes, the old boot CD of this several years ago has dynamite sound and lots of extra cues. Really good. I do not have one. Best, John.

How do the frogs in the Ray Milland epic opus compare to the frogs in Magnolia? There was also the from mask in The Abominable Dr. Phibes. Yuck!
I though Ryko was shutting down. Are they still operating?

Greg, I have not seen Magnolia so I can't say on that. I have seen both Phibes movies. When my wife and I saw the first one back in 1972 in Germany I remember the great scene of the grasshoppers/locusts eating the honey off the person who didn't wake up when the honey hit her. They ate her head clean except for the hair. Great scene. Generally, those two movies are very dumb but funny in places. Best, John.

I loved Vincents rendition of Over The Rainbow.
