For some reason I can't seem to get used to it. I mean the theme is good, but the rest is corny cartoon music.
Second Jungle Book is just my 3rd JS CD but the other ones I have are great.

what's the difference between DSL and cable?
It's all pretty stinkin' fast (and expensive), right?
Tim,
Second Jungle Book isn't really my cup of tea either. Look for Greystoke instead.Where did you find Antony & Cleopatra?

Antony and Cleopatra is the first Scott score I heard and I was hooked! I actually found it on an mp3 site, I tried looking for the CD, but I couldn't find it, so I just coverted the MP3s to audio CDR.I'm expecting 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea soon, and I'm searching for Lionheart and Shogun Mayeda.

DSL goes through a special phoneline and is faster then a cable modem. Plus you don't have to dial up, since the DSL server is basicaly a huge network. So all you need to do is open the browser and your online!
Plus cable modems tend to get boggled down when everybody is online at once. DSL does, but I hear its not half as bad. I just dled like 4 mp3 songs in about 10 minutes..each were over 3 megs. I'm actualy using ADSL but its pretty much the same thing.

So, how fast is it? My cable connection goes up to 300kbit/s, but to America, I'm happy if I get 100. ADSL recently started in Austria, but they reportedly still have many problems, and there's a download limit, too. The best thing about my cable connection is that I pay the same regardless of how much I'm online - so I'm online the whole day

Eh,
The most I've ever gotten was about 30K/sec...but I think that might have something to do with my slow processor and the servers that the other websites are on. Plus I've only had it for like 3 days

I,m on cable hookup and love it. However,
cable and modem to internet card connections
can be very fussy. They need to be clean and
firm.

At the university, I sometimes get transfer rates as high as 800 KByte per second, but we'll have to wait some more years until home connections reach this speed.

Well, My speed at the moment is 57K/s
in B.A.
It was 47 but when I'd installed the Webcelerator it improved.
The cable modem is a bit expensive this days in B.A.;about $100 a month, so for now I'll
continue to using my phone connection at
57K.
Anyway, if anybody is interested, the webcelerator can be dounloaded free at

Lucky you..here in Malaysia the only thing fast is the freakin public bus..they drive like maniacs here.Seriously, only 56K is realistically available here. There has been trial on ADSL but I have yet to see it mass marketted.

With my DSL, I'm averaging around 800 k sec. If you go to the address below, it'll tell you how fast your modem is working. It's pretty cool.

Every modem has a direct connection to the main HUB. It works with your existing phone line. It's transfered in frequencies outside the human ear, so you can use your phone while on the internet. Cable modems are just like dial up, only faster. They will bog down depending on how many are on it.
