    Well,

some of you may know this phenomenal book series called Left Behind. The latest being The Indwelling. Anyway, the first book is in pre-production right now.

The series is based mostly on revalations. The premise: The state of the world after millions of people dissapear after the rapture. The appearance of the Anti-Christ etc.

Who would you want to compose this film?

My first choice as always Williams, then Goldsmith and after that probably Trevor Jones, or Arnold.

    Scott

I highly doubt that anyone at this message board has heard of it, but there is a radio version of Left Behind, including dramatic readings, sound effects and musical scoring.

Where I live, there is a local Christian radio station that plays it daily!

I love this series and hope the movie will be a great success as well as convert some people to our Lord. Anxious to see who will score this film. Let's pray it's Trevor Rabin. hahaha, just joking. As much of a Rabin fan I am I don't think he would be right for the job.

    Chris-
I work at a book store and today we just recieved the recording of that radio show. IMHO the score is wretched.

This is very interesting indeed. I haven't read any of the books yet, so I must go based on what others have told me.

Williams and Goldsmith are right for any film. Other good choices would be Don Davis or Aaron Collins.

What studio is doing this movie?

Is it the same as the one that released The Omega Code?

I 2nd the Aaron suggestion for composing this film. His talent is unbelievable. Would be awesome to see him score this movie.

The books are based on several different passages from several books in the Bible. Is this a film coming out? The scriptures and truths are worked into fictional stories trying to gain the attention of those who are unfamilar with them.

By the way, I saw The Appointment on TV the other night. Not too bad for a film like that. Suspenseful in a certain sort of way.
Acting in it was better than many of this type.

Many composers would do this well.
For those of you who have seen the Omega Code, how did Michael York do in it?

    Take it easy, John.

John, I'm one of those stupid, tragic people who watched The Omega Code a few weeks ago. York acted in an INANE movie with an idiotic, poorly assembled script. He over acted and was probably embarrassed to be in such a flick. (I usually like him.) For me at least, it was one of the worst movies I've ever been dumb enough to watch. I should have submitted to an IQ test for watching it until the end. BLECK! (Are you getting the sense that it just didn't do it for me? )

    joan,

I'm sensing that you didn't like The Omega Code? Am I right?

well, I wouldn't really expect anything better from that Trinity Broadcasting. You ever run across them on TV? Not to disparage them to anyone here who likes it, but please. People look at that and see evrything wrong with Christianity and wonder "why bother?" <-- got a strong dose of that with my ex-girlfriend...what do you say?

JJH, how could you possibly tell that I HATED The Omega Code? (Glad to see you're listening to Omega Man, not Code.) Have to plead ignorance to Trinity Broadcasting.

I think W.G. "Snuffy" Walden ought to compose the "Left Behind" series. I have read the first five books...and when I think of the story in visual terms, I cannot help but recall Walden's evocative score for Stephen King's "The Stand."

The very worst one I saw off of TBN was Treasure of Eagle Mountain Lake with Kenneth Copeland in a western. It had a fairly good story, but was acted out horribly. F- on acting in it. Best, John.
