    Hi Everyone!
I just got back from my annual trip to Michigan where I always overspend on CD's. This time I actually spent less on CD's than usual. Here is what I bought:

Predator 2 (Alan Silvestri): I like the jungle beats, but a few parts remind me of Jurassic Park: The Lost World.

Richie Rich (Alan Silvestri): Another cute score.

Our Man Flint/In Like Flint (Jerry Goldsmith): I had thought about this one for a long time and finally caved in and bought it. Really groovy!

Shanghai Noon (Randy Edelman): I like the Western and Chinese instruments, but a lot is just typical Edelman music.

Patton/Tora Tora Tora! (Jerry Goldsmith): I enjoyed the theme at the Goldsmith concert so I decided to buy it.

Lonesome Dove (Basil Poledouris): This is the old Cabin Fever release that I found in the bargain bin. For a few dollars I thought I would try it.

    Daniel S.

Lets see, I'm busy building my Goldsmith collection, so here are my purchases for this month (which I'm still waiting for to arrive):

    • Breakout
    • High Velocity
    • Hour of the Gun
    • The River Wild

I can't wait for the Wild Rovers disc next month (I hope).

Hook (DVD). Has it's flaws, but I still think it's a wonderful movie. Wedge may be right, this could be Williams' best score. I had tears in my eyes during several scenes. When compared to the movie, the (fantastic) score album isn't much better than that for Episode 1. Mr. Matessino!!

And my Fight Club DVD should arrive any day now.

    NP: Essential Goldsmith (yet again)

Mumford, JNH, not reall one of his better scores. But hey, with 5 scores in 1999, you knew one had to be a stinker.

Just got Thunderball and Licence To Kill...waiting for my View To a Kill special order to complete my James Bond Collection.

Otherwise, not much. Been buying lots of DVD's lately. Just bought The Messenger, Little Women, (Both with isolated scores), Lethal Weapon 1 - 3 (DTS Director's Cuts), Sleepy Hollow, and The World Is Not Enough. Otherwise I think I'm gonna slow down for a bit this summer until I hear more scores that I really want to get I still have about 300+ CD's, some MP3's and Musicchoice to listen to. So I can stay occupied for quite some time.

NP - First Knight VHS/Widescreen. (No, I haven't sprung for the DVD yet!)

Picked up at a stoop sale this afternoon for just 3 bucks apiece (sealed!):

CINEMA SERENADE 2: THE GOLDEN AGE (John Williams and Itzhak Perlman -- I particularly like their take on WUTHERING HEIGHTS)

CHEF AID: THE SOUTH PARK ALBUM

and the real surprise of the bunch --

RUDOLPH, FROSTY & FRIENDS' CHRISTMAS SONGS -- actual original versions of such masterpieces as "Rudolph," "Frosty," "Silver and Gold," "No More Toymakers to the King" (performed by PAUL FREES!!!!), and my all-time favorite, "There's Always Tomorrow."

    THREE BUCKS A POP!

NP: "Come Sail Away" as performed by Eric Cartman (CHEF AID/SOUTH PARK) (this is damned disturbing in a way)

Just got Enemy of The State...I know I know..kinda late but I was wrestling with myself whether to get the score or not since there were mixed feelings about the score. Let's just say I'm glad I got it.

Another note: GLADIATOR score is NOT coming to Malaysia..WHY? WHY?? Oh..the cruelty...the agony...

Looks like i have to whip it out ( my credit card that is) and order online.

Ya'll have to pick up ARABIAN NIGHTS!!!!

The score to the ABC mini-series by a man named Richard Harvey, starring Jason Scott Lee amongst others.

The 4 hour movie was actually pretty good. The mini-series as of late has been pretty overdone and oversimplified. This one wasn't as sophomoric, juvenile or patronizing as the bile that NBC has been producing like The Odyssey, Jason and the Argonauts, Merlin, Alice in Wonderland, Gulliver's Travels OR the GODAWWWWWWFUL the60's and the even worse the70's..........YUCK!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, if and when ARABIAN NIGHTS comes ou on DVD or VHS check it out, it's not bad; and the score is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got in the post- Beneath The Planet Of The Apes.

Wonderful! The original LP tracks are quite wacky, like a cross between Barbarella and Jesus Christ Superstar.

But the score's the thing. For me, Rosenman is compelling even when doing creeping-around music.

Well I just went to the "local" Barnes and Noble (an hour away) and picked up that Outland/Capricorn One disc.

B&N is such a funny store since as soon as I buy one of the soundtrack albums that have been sitting there for three years, they turn around and stock it again for some reason... I guess they figure in three years another movie music fan will come around to buy it. (This has happened with The Blue Max, Forever Young and some other discs I've picked up there.) They've even got a copy of The Wind and the Lion (I've never seen this in any other stores).

I was also tempted to get The Black Hole on DVD, but since it was $25.00, I decided to wait.
