Its seems not long ago that it was Walkabout
that would be Silva's new John Barry rerecording and that it would be out in the
spring. Do I have the time of year wrong for
I do not see it on any of the lists for
preorder anywhere. With the amount of boot
lps being offered around I thought it must
be close. I know that it is a very short
score and will be recorded with other goodies.

At last report the SILVA recording team lead by James Fitzpatrick will be leaving at the end of the week to go to Prague and record the album (along with a few other items as well).I think they wish to release it by the late fall.
More to follow.

The sooner, the better; I hope this is as good a production as their masterful "Raise the Titanic," which I think is a fantastic re-recording."Walkabout" is a wonderful score. The theme that Barry recorded on "Moviola," which is the same one that Raine recorded for the Barry collections, is only one facet of this amazing score, which also features a great choral track and many other goodies.
At long last, we'll finally have a chance to hear this music in stereo. Wasn't the Criterion laserdisc supposed to have an isolated score track? It's too bad it doesn't, but on the other hand it has a pretty good transfer and an excellent commentary track. I believe these features are replicated on the DVD.

Hopefully more choral cues from "The Last Valley..."
