Chris,

you of all people really dissapointed me with your comment towards Dave. I never pointed the finger towards the former FSM group and I won't now, because I don't think its a group that is at fault.

I have never mentioned names, for I try to say only positives about people. I only refered toward an attitude.

Even the attitude displayed towards PeterK has been, at times rather problematic. Its as if Peter gave a party inviting everyone but having certain conditions. Don't drink and smoke (just an example). Yet some show up drunk and taking drugs. Now what?

I hope everyone realizes that I don't attack individuals (although I am often tempted). As a man of faith, I try to first and foremost please my Father. I often fail miserably, and I can only be grateful for His mercy and forgiveness. Yet, I will always speak out on the good and the bad.

By the way, for those who insist on informing us that we live on planet earth: thank you for revealing this fact. Now, tell us something we don't know.

Scott

one more thing. I think we all get out. To have our passion, we need to either be incredibly rich or have to work. Since I don't think anyone at this board is incredibly rich that they don't have to work , reason dictates that we all work. It seems logical then that we all, once in awhile get out.

Scott,

I never get out!!! I am fat and rich and only play computer!

Jeron and JJH,

I can take you both on without a problem.

I have already stated my views on this and I will only let Jeron or Scott speak for me...

Thanks,
Aaron

Dear Scott,

I took offense at Tim T's comment about the FSM group. I mistakenly attributed that comment to Dave. I apologized for the mistake.
You aren't the first person I've ever disappointed, and I'm certain you will not be the last. I'm human. I spoke my mind during a moment of anger, and I apologized for doing so.
Ya' want me to walk barefoot over hot coals now, or later?

Dear Chris,

unfortunately I am not the most articulate individual on this dear planet. To say that you disapointed me is a little...gosh, I dunno...wrong?

Let me put it this way: your comment seemed to be out of character for the Chris that I have gotten used to on this board.

Now, you don't own me anything, certainly not walking on hot coal, although with your faith, I am pretty sure that would be no problem.

I apologize if I rubbed you the wrong way, for that was not my intention and I feel very bad right now. I have always valued your opinion and am repeatenly in awe with your spiritual insights and knowledge. You would be a person I would love to sit down with and talk to for hours.

My respect and admiration for you has not changed in the least. You are a person I contiune to learn from and that alone is invaluable.

So, again, I was just shocked at the different Chris I saw there, yet that is cool. I guess I just know you a bit better now.

BTW, I am glad you found this site. You are surely a great and most appreciated addition to this board.

God bless,

Scott

Yes this is a highly unusual situation for Mr. K, for he is NEVER CONTROVERSIAL, as it were!

As for Yours Truly, if anyone requests credentials I am more than happy to show him or her my green mile card.

I know that often times I am one who is critical in my posts. I never mean any offense to any of the other message boarders. And I, only to an insignificant degree mean any disrespect to composers themselves. It is true that despite my lack of enthusiasm for certain composers and how they *score* films, I still generally love their music.

But I think that, in perhaps speaking for the group to which this is aimed, some of us out there do dislike things for good reason.

I thought I made it very clear in my post about GLADIATOR's score. It lacked unity--big time. I was critical because I think, if Hans Zimmer or someone who would mention it to him ever reads this, he could remember the criticism and do better next time. Specifically (really) I wrote my criticism and thoughts about the score primarily in hoping that Mr. Collins might read it. I want him to have a great career as a film composer, and, as I also said before, I think he's living out the dreams of a lot of us here.

If I ever upset anyone with my criticism personally, I only apologize to a certain degree.

I think it's wrong for someone to say something really stinks but equally annoying to hear that something is good just because it is.

**WHY** is something good or bad? If you like it, say so. But say why. And vice-versa.

I think a lot of the anger that comes from reading critical posts happens because when someone says something critical about a score or score's musical quality that we hadn't thought about, it affects the way we like/dislike it ourselves.

That's why those icons are there, too; they're good for foreshadowing. If a post looks like it's critical, don't read it if the consequence is going to be an upset mood.

But, in a way, we ought to expect at a message board that opinions are all going to be different. There's nothing bad about that, or, just for instance, not liking GLADIATOR as much because it doesn't have strong unity (to put it lightly).

I can't even start to name all the score albums that just collect dust in my collection because I stopped liking them.

My whole experience has been about evolving likes and dislikes. I hope that when somebody thinks I'm wrong about something that he says so (gently), because I want to see all angles on something, etc.

Hope that is an encouraging post and so forth for everyone to read.

Dear Scott,

You said: "I guess I just know you a bit better now."

Amen and amen.

Scott, I deeply appreciate all of your kind words about the many things I've had to say here. I am indeed humbled by the respect you have placed in me, but please know that I am just as capable of totally blowing it as the next guy.
The impact that God has had on my life has DEFINITELY changed me from a person with little or no control whatsoever over my emotions to a person guided and directed by the Holy Spirit. I have given him my tongue...but from time to time my keyboard is another matter entirely.
You'll never find me name-calling or flaming or anything of that sort. But I DO still become angry occasionally, and then I do my best to "anger, and sin not" as we are instructed in the Word.
And, sometimes I fail.
I'm not perfect, Scott. Far from it. But, OH! If you had known me BEFORE I met Jesus, you wouldn't have recognized me at all! I may not yet be where I ought to be, but how very far I have come!
Please don't feel bad for expressing your disappointment. It's not worth the grief. I love you and it's cool, OK?

Howard: As you certainly should know by now, PLEASE stop waving your credentials in my face! Perhaps it's time you had them RENEWED!!!

Lol. Now that was funny.

As far as changes are concerned, Chris, let's just say the Scott that used to be would have not been allowed on this message board and that would have been a good thing.

Scott,
It looks like you're having trouble with the quote & bold functions...if you want a quote to appear, you must sandwich it in between these:

with NO spaces in between the brackets & the words. Same for BOLD: the words you want to appear in bold type must be sandwiched in between these: . For ITALIC type, .

Hope that helps. You can edit your post above to correct the error.
