I'm listening to this right now. I'll know in about 45 minutes, but is the End Title on this c.d.?
That song Play up and Win the Game is HILARIOUS! Particularly that voice in the background that keeps going "uhhhh"!

No, the End Title isn't on the Cd, altough I think it's only a repetition of the "Munchausen Waltz". But I'm not sure.

This is a perfect score by mr. Kamen! One of his finest to date (maybe his finest).
"An Eunuch Life's Hard" is my favorite song... 100% pure Python nonsense!!

This is certainly my favorite Kamen score. And the end title IS on the disc.

Kamen fell out with director Terry Gilliam for a while because of this picture -- among other things, because Kamen couldn't believe that a movie already so expensive couldn't be recorded anyplace but Munich. (Hell, at that time, they possibly tried to push Budapest. Although the main producer was German, so maybe not.)

NP: GODZILLA VS. MECHAGODZILLA (1974 version, Masaru Sato) (not recorded in Munich, believe it or not)

Actually, Kamen and Gilliam recently worked together on "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," so there is a possibility we'll see another full-blown collaboration between them.

To my taste, Kamen and George Fenton (on "The Fisher King") were the two composers who really nailed what Gilliam's films are supposed to sound like.

All the music that makes up the end title is, in fact, on the CD. It's the "Munchausen Waltz," including that heavenly bit at the end, along with the finale of the battle music from the climax of the film ("Elephants").

Interestingly, it is the MAIN TITLE which does not appear on the album. The Munchausen fanfare appears in a different form in "Baron Rides Off Into the Sunset," but the version that opened the film is absent from the record.

I knew Kamen worked on it, but I never established what precisely he contributed to FEAR AND LOATHING. Anybody know?

I remember reading an interview with Kamen about the time he was working on the film. It was mentioned that he was doing something with it, but when I saw the film, all I heard were (some very well-chosen) songs. The credits give him special thanks...

    Somebody, anybody, if they know...?
