you know, every time I am in my hometown I find like zillions of CDs every time; nothing too special, just lots of stuff I don't normally find in stores. Last time, I had gone to Best Buy and found they had remodeled and expanded the soundtrack and classical selections! Not enough money, so I had to pick and choose.

There sat Othello, by Goldenthal. 2 copies, as well as Charlie Mole's cool Othello fim score, but that's beside the point.
I thought "naaaahhhhh." I'll go with my Rozsa at MGM, and various others I went wild about.

They sat there for about 2 months when I went back periodically.

This past Mother's Day weekend, I was there yet again, specifically to obtain Goldenthal's ballet.

NOT THERE! Dang it! While I suppose it's good someone else ion Amarillo likes Goldenthal, they really didn't have to take my CDs.

DOH!!

thank you and goodnight.

NP -- The Unfinished Journey, John Williams, just finished. CD moves on to his Tuba Concerto...pretty good. sound is bad though, oh well.

That same thing happened to me with Goldsmith's "The Chairman" LP.

Tuba concerto?! Where can I get a recording of this? I knew Williams wrote it, but I have never been able to hear it performed anywhere. (Most of my interest comes from the fact that I'm a tuba player)

I command you to email me about this recording.

BTW -- I played Tuba for like 6 weeks oe time. Didn't like it, though I was pretty good, even with my trumpet background

That's quite crazy, because I have literally just got back from buying Goldenthal's Othello from a local CD shop, where it's been sitting very cheap for weeks. And I went to get it this morning - & they were shut. Anyway, at least I did manage to get it this afternoon.

And Williams' Tuba Concerto is pretty good, I heard him conduct it with the LSO in his concert in London two years ago. It didn't really go down too well with most of the audience, though - most felt that the time would have been better spent on more of his film stuff...

I've often seen CDs in stores when I didn't really want them, and later, when I was looking for them, they were gone. I'm still looking for Goldsmith's Secret of Nimh, for example.
