Maybe it's because I live in a cave or something, but I keep seeing soundtrack CDs to something called Heavy Metal 200?I have at least different covers for it. I'm just wondering if HM 2000 is a sequl of sorts for the first movie? someone 'splain it to me. spanks. NP -- Peter the Great (TV), Rosenthal

You are correct sir. It is a sequal. It (I think)should be out late this summer. I wouldn't expect a score soundtrack for it though. The last movies songtrack was a huge seller.dave NP : Temple of Doom

Maybe there will be a score album for the new movie, though. There was for the original (the first time I know of when there were two album releases for the same film).Does anyone know who is scoring this one? I guess it's not Bernstein, which is a shame, because his original "Heavy Metal" score is fantastic.

To be perfectly honest, I am not feeling to good about this sequel. Both film and music. Hopefully it can live up to the original. Though from the track listing of the songtrack album, I won't be buying it until I know more about it. Let me put it this way, the original film was an good film, and had both an great song and score soundtrack. Though I doubt the same can be said of this new one. Let's just hope I'm wrong. However MTV is raving about it. However should that make us feel better or worse, I'll leave that up to you to decide. Regards, Sean Robert Abbey

The IMDb doesn't even have a credit for score ... maybe this time there won't be one.

Unfortunately, as I said above. Just by looking at the track listing, this songtrack disc is sub-par compared to the original. I keep hearing how film music has gone down the toilet these last few years, and if this is any indication. They are right. Anyway, here is an track listing from Amazon.com. 01. F.A.K.K.
