If you could have all the scores you ever wanted (whether re-prints, expanded/ completes, boots/promos, scores that were never released, heck - scores that never even existed), which ones would you want?

    On my wish list:

    - U.S. Marshals (complete)

    - The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. (Randy Edelman's premiere episode score)

    - More Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. (a compilation CD of score from different episodes)

    - L.A. Heat (Louis Febre's premiere episode score)

    - L.A. Heat: Get Lethal (a compilation CD of score from different episodes)

    - True Lies (Alan Silvestri's rejected score. Hey - I said ANYTHING! )

    - Halloween: H20 (John Carpenter, Alan Howarth)

    - GoldenEye (John Barry)

    - I Know What You Did Last Summer (I simply can't afford $100 for ONE score!!)

    - Quigley, Down Under (expanded)

    - Ronin, Judge Dredd, Lost In Space, The Hunt For Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger (Jerry Goldsmith)

    - Lost In Space (Alan Silvestri)

    - Batman: The Animated Series (a five CD set containing tons of Shirley Walker's fabulous music)

    - Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero (Michael McCuiston's excellant score to this excellant animated sequel)

    - Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (complete)

    - every Jerry Goldsmith and John Carpenter score that I don't own

    Also,

Legionnaire (The highly-underrated van Damme movie)

The Spy Who Loved Me (Goldsmith. He was offered it, I think, but turned it down because he thought nobody could do Bond better than Barry. And he's right.)

    Waxman's Mr. Roberts

And all those that exist that I can't afford.

Well, awhile back on the FSM board, I posted a think asking how many people would like to see a Goldsmith/Bond score. Someone replied and said, accoring to something they read in a some Bond-related article/story/whatever, that Goldsmith was offered The Spy Who Loved Me, but turned it down, because he felt only John Barry could score the Bond movies. I've yet to discover if that story's true, but it does make you excited with ideas of a Goldsmith/Bond score, doesn't it?

I've got to say that I don't believe that Goldsmith was EVER offered a Bond film. Every time Barry was unavailable or unwilling, producer Albert "Cubby" Broccoli hired either composers best known for pop works (George Martin, Marvin Hamlisch) or for pop-type scores (Bill Conti, Michael Kamen). Not to mention Eric Serra later (although Broccoli had died by then, right? Still, Serra is exactly characteristic of the kind of non-Barry choice they tended to make. It's a wonder Vangelis didn't do one -- and I LIKE Vangelis.)

A Goldsmith Bond score would be interesting indeed, but with the two FLINTs, he kind of already showed us what he'd do.

Chris, I'd also be very interested in hearing what Mancini wrote for FRENZY. Agreed. Also, include on that list Ron Goodwin's fine score for that film; short, but very effective, and one I feel would stand well on its own.

I find myself repeatedly mentioning this score whenever the opportunity is presented, and once again, it has been: John Williams' FAMILY PLOT.

Miklos Rozsa's SPELLBOUND and Franz Waxman's SUNSET BOULEVARD and A PLACE IN THE SUN, and Williams' JAWS are high on my list as well.

    • The First Great Train Robbery (Goldsmith; out of print)
    • Captain Blood complete (Erich W. Korngold; unreleased)
    • Complete versions of all those incomplete or unreleased Williams scores (and I mean complete, e.g. Jurassic Park is missing at least one track that I'd like to have)

There is too much to mention here, so aside of those already existed, I would really want a complete score to Kalifornia by Carter Burwell. I have not watched the movie myself, but the theme is too darn good, and I hope to have the complete score.

And by the way, the reason why I have not watched the movies is because I can't seem to find it anywhere on video.

My list has been shortened considerably in the past year, for which I am extremely greatfull. However here is my list (and I bet you all know what's on top):

    Mystery Alaska
633 Squadron (I have it on LP, would like it on CD)
Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines
Under Fire (I have the LP, have THE ESSENTIAL GOLDSMITH CD, but would still like the complete score on CD)

I'd go for the "Briscoe County" music, too.

    Marc

    I'll be too greedy!!!!!
If i had the chance to own everything i'd like to have everything Jerry Goldsmith has ever done, and also every note by North, Herrmann, Rosza, Barry, Bernstein, Morricone, Mancini, Schifrin, A.Newman, Waxman, Legrand, Delerue, De Roubaix, Ifukube, Sarde, Ferrio, Nicolai, Ortolani, Rota, DeMasi, Piccioni, Budd, Lai, Some specific Steiner titles, the full scores from many 70ies thrillers, everything from spaghetti western scores, everything from Italian giallo scores.
    Ithink that's enough!!
