When I heard that this movie had isolated score I was so happy. I mean I really, really love the score to this movie, Danny Elfman's first movie scoring job and one of my favourites. The CD is OK, but there is so much not on the CD that will be on the DVD...Oh I can't wait. There is a way to rip the isolated scores from the DVD, right? Because if there is I have to buy an isolated Pee Wee score CD from somebody when this comes out....by the way, when does this DVD come out???

The DVD is out on May 2nd, and yes, there are ways to rip isolated scores. No doubt someone will do so. If I had a CD Burner I would, but I don't.

Can someone tell me how to make a CDR of an isolated score? I have the CD writer and the DVD-ROM drive, but I don't know how you would go about getting the isolated score onto the CD.

I can't wait for the Pee Wee DVD. Finally, I can listen to all of the "Studio Chase" that was really really really short on the Varese release.

Incidentally, Cenzo, PEE WEE was not Elfman's first film score - that was FORBIDDEN ZONE (although the latter was performed by Oingo Boingo, and not a solo Elfman effort).

But I'll stop the nitpicking. I'm very delighted that there will be a iso score of this one, although I'm in no position to enjoy it (since I don't own a DVD player). On the other hand, I'm also very pleased with the current original Varese release (coupled with BACK TO SCHOOL).

What definitely needs an isolated score, however, is BIG TOP PEE-WEE, the sequel, whose CD release is haunted by several, unprogrammable dialogue cuts. Ruins the listening fluidity, IMHO.

I wonder what kind of deals they strike with the union in order to issue isolated scores. I mean, there was no PEE-WEE album until Varese rerecorded parts of it in London ... just as there's an ISO of THE MUMMY and ALIEN, for example, because that one was done in London as well. (Actually, I don't see why they don't put out EVERYTHING with isolated scores, but that's a separate topic.)

    Thanks Dan!

Whoa! SW that is the exact same track that I felt jipped on, I thought the studio chase music was great, but the Varese release fell short.

And Thor, when I was writing the post I was thinking of Forbidden Zone and I Kneeeewwww that someone was going to mention that, but I left it with Pee Wee's because, as you said, Forbidden Zone was more Oingo Boingo than Danny Elfman. ^_^

Well, If anyone does make a CD-R of the isolated DVD when it comes out I would definitely buy it from you. I would be very appreciative. How 'bout it?
