I think I enjoy all of the tracks. For the lovely main theme, I play tracks 1,2 and 11. For rolicking rhythm I enjoy track 4. To hear a dissonant reworking of the main theme to fit Jane's heartbreak, I play track 9. I think you'll like most of it. One of his best.

Joan, you've chosen the tracks I go to most often also, with one exception. I love the ecclesiastical theme of "Restoration", it is dynamic, and gives a marvelous interpretation of Jane's state of mind at the time.

This is one of John Williams' finest works, and I love every second of it.

    Highly recommended!
I generally always play the whole CD, so I can't give any special track recommendations. But they're all worth it.

Agree with B above. "Restoration" depicts the pastoral qualitites of the St. Rivers character and is an excellent (early) example of John Williams' religious sound

I have to agree with Marian. The CD's brevity makes it easy to listen to all in one pop.
