I think I am losing track of all the recent or upcoming movies! I try to keep a list, so I can remember to see them all, and to also keep a list of the scores, so I know which ones to get, etc. Help!

Why does Clinton sometimes get stuck with such poor movies? Note to Hollywood: give this guy some good films.

Frequency seems like a helluva interesting movie. Of course, it's got Dennis Quaid (another great, underrated actor), so I'll be in line for that one.

And let's hope to God that Keitel keeps his pants ON in U-571!!

Mason Daring (the films of John Sayles) is scoring WHERE THE HEART IS. It looks like a good film.

Actually, READY TO RUMBLE looks hilarious ... seen the trailer? I saw it with both THE NINTH GATE (of all pictures!) and the documentary BEYOND THE MAT, which is really remarkable -- should have made the final cut for the Documentary Oscar (like the Documentary branch ever gets it even close to right.)

The trailer (which I've seen several times now) for Edward Norton's directorial debut KEEPING THE FAITH suggests that Norton has an unexpected soft spot for broad slapstick ... this should be interesting ...

I can't think of a single movie this year that I really REALLY can't wait for, except perhaps for DINOSAUR, and they already screwed that one up by including dialogue ... Okay, on reflection, THE HOLLOW MAN looks tremendous. (Paul! Verhoeven! PAUL! VERHOEVEN!) I just hope it's READY on time.

More Frankenheimer by Christmas would cheer me immensely, but one can't beg for the world in just a single breath. (Why not ask for Kurosawa to come back?)

NP: CRIMINAL LAW (Goldsmith, just ended -- the score, that is, not the composer)

It does look mildly amusing, but I can only take David Arquette for so long when he's in a comedy.

Is Goldsmith still on for THE HOLLOW MAN?

Whoo-hoo! Three - three - Silvestri scores this year! Can't wait to hear 'em, especially What Lies Beneath. (Can't wait to see it, too).

I thought Goldsmith was no longer attached to The Kid?

Goldsmith isn't doing THE YARDS; at least at the IMDb, he's still doing THE KID.

I don't think PEARL HARBOR is going to be ready this year. I'd expect it for May or June 2001. I guess conceivably they could hustle it through for December 7, 2000, but have they even started shooting?

    HT,

Where did you get your info on the sequel to Bad Boys? I heard the project was scrapped. If this is true and they are making another Bad Boys movie with Mark Mancina again scoring this is the best news I have heard since JNH doing Dinosaur.

I hope Gladiator and Pearl Harbor don't feature those great synth drums and a contemporary beat. Best, John.
