First, let me state that I'm extremely impressed by this score. Second, let me also state that like many Morricone releases, the CD is sequenced to its own detriment. Fortunately, current technology alllows the listener some flexibility. So, if you were initially put off by the score, try this playlist instead: 5, 7, 4, 10, 6, 11, 8, 3, 2, 9, 1.

I always listen to 9 last. "Where?" is one of the best cues I've heard in a long time. Triumphant, uplifting, and very moving. Simply put, a brilliant cue in a brilliant score.

MISSION TO MARS: the more I listen to it, more I realize what a genious Ennio Morricone is...

Track 9 "Where?" is my favorite too!

In an ocean of unoriginal, boring, cloned and shallow scores that we are hearing today, MISSION TO MARS is indeed an "unexpected surprise"... and quite a good one!

    Thanks Maestro!

I'd have to say track 9, "Death of a Hero", is my favourite, followed by tracks 7 and 2. The immediacy of each cue, without recourse to the usuall Hollywood, space-opera cliches, is such a reward following, let's say, a turgid run through of Phantom Menace.

I do not know what my favorite track is yet on this one. I bought it on Saturday, and I only have listedned to tracks 1-5 so far, so I do not know about track #9, but I do know that I like the theme about 20 seconds into track #2, which is played on other tracks, although maybe not on the same instrument. I did not care for track #6 too much (isn't this where they lost the ship?). And as for track #4, about 3:30 into it, kinda strange, but it made me laugh!
