Hey dantoris - yeah, I have this. It's a 2-disc set w/ about 20 cues per cd, with a run time of about 115 minutes... also included on the second disc is about 20 minutes of score Goldsmith composed conceptually, based upon JNH's themes. They are excellent, so I'm not sure why they weren't used.

Actually - I'm joking. I don't have an expanded copy of U.S. Marshalls.... and I doubt one exists. BUT IF ONE DOES EXIST... and you know how to obtain it - please, PLEASE let both dantoris and I know.

    Smiles,
    Jeron

ARGH!! Don't ever ever do that to me again. If you do, so help me God, I will unleash every negative thing I have against David Arnold, and I'll magically transform in this board's DANIEL2 and flood it with countless Arnold-related posts.

LOL - come on Dantoris... laugh a little. You have to admit, that *was* pretty funny. And besides, you know that I would love a U.S. Marshalls expanded - as much if not more than the average over fanatical Goldsmith fan.

Take a joke, live a little. =) Smile!

    Peace,
    Jeron

could someone enlighten me as to the need for a US Marshals expanded edition?
Isn't that already available as Star Trek: Insurrection?

and please tell me why the only way I can get the Widescreen version of TPM is to buy a $30 box set with a ton of extraneous crap?

I was laughing, Jeron. Notice the I had in my response.

JJH - I really like U.S. MARSHALS (score and film). It's just a really simple action score, and a nice little change of pace for Goldsmith after such huge scores like THE MUMMY and AIR FORCE ONE.

However, yes - I did notice hints of U.S. MARSHALS in INSURRECTION.

First off, not to sound like an fanboy. However I think it would be great to have all of Jerry Goldsmith's scores expanded. We might not need the music, but it would be nice either way.

Actually I wish we could have all scores expanded, there is always just too many score CDs that are missing great cues most of the time anymore, Well there are some exceptions though.

As for TPM, try ordering the video at CDNOW, if you use one of their online coupons it is only $15-20 or so, before taxes and shipping. I placed an order for it from them, and with all my credit and whatnot it was not anymore expensive than getting the full screen version.

    Regards,
    Sean Robert Abbey

I'm always in favor of complete scores for EVERYTHING being issued -- not because I'd necessarily want every minute myself, but because everyone relates to something different -- there'll be little bits of one score I like that you have no use for, and vice versa. I think complete issues are the only way to make everybody happy.

Just from a scholarly point of view, I'd be fascinated to hear rehearsals and alternate versions of various Goldsmith and Ifukube scores -- sometimes, I'm told, the alternate versions can be better -- there were a few messages here about the original version of Poledouris' BREAKOUT compared to his "re-score" of the same picture. In the same vein, James Horner did THREE different scores for HEAVEN HELP US (never heard any of em).

NP: PATTON (FSM version -- speaking of complete issues!)

I definetly want a complete version of U.S.Marshals and I've been hearing that there's complete bootleg version out there of the score that runs 2 CD's long. I personally don't have it but I would definetly get my hands on it if I had the chance. Rocco:Poledouris wrote 2 different scores for BREAKDOWN. not Breakout which Goldsmith scored. And the Horner score that he'd written 3 times and was eventually thrown out was STREETS OF FIRE.

BREAKDOWN, yes, not BREAKOUT -- and if Horner wrote three versions of STREETS OF FIRE, this is the first I've heard of it. But there WERE definitely three scores for HEAVEN HELP US: Horner gave an interview to CINEMASCORE Magazine about it.

Hard Target - I e-mailed Craig at ScreenArchives the other day to see if he had any info on an expanded U.S. MARSHALS, and his response was that he hadn't heard any concrete about it. So there's a chance it does exist.

Somebody better release a 2CD 150 minute music edition of one of Jerry Goldsmith's scores soon. I am going stir-crazy here. Why is it that Williams can get an official 150 minute release for Superman and a boot release of equal lenght for "Hook".

It's Jerry's turn now! 150 minutes pure synths, beats, percussion, French trumpets, oboe, horns, strange and unwordly sounds!
