I got the idea from a thread on a Simpsons message board I saw several months ago. I've wanted to start this thread for quite some time already, but never did because I didn't have a Scrabble game or other letter tokens (remember "Sneakers"? ) to actually make some anagrams.

I still don't have them, so I can't really start this thread, but I think it could be great fun to create some anagrams of composer names or the names of our fellow message boarders. So, post if you've got some!

Apparently Don Davis likes anagrams, too. On his Matrix DVD commentary he explains how he got the titles for the cues "Exit Mr. Hat" and "Threat Mix" (which is called Hotel Ambush on the official CD).

Also, the first part of music in the sparring sequence is called "Bow Whisk Orchestra" (I think...), which is an anagram of 'Wachowski Brothers.'

SBD: I only visited that newsgroup once, and I can't remember which one it exactly was. I just checked the list in my newsreader application, and there were several Simpsons newsgroups. I guess the one I was referring to might have been news://alt.tv.simpsons

A word or a number of words you get when you reorder the letters from another word or number of words (preferrably names).

James, I wonder if the profane anagram for Max Steiner was SEX-RITE MAN.

A Christopher Young anagram is O! CRISP HEN YOGHURT, and one for Harry Gregson Williams is MR. HAIRY-ARSE WILL SNOGG.

There are loads for Patrick Doyle. I got OILY DECK TRAP, DICKY RAT POLE, TRICKY POLE AD, DICK-PARTY LEO and YODEL AT PRICK.

The Howard Shore possibilities are infinite. Lots of stuff about whores, rashes and warhorses.

    Hey, John!
If I rearrange the letters in John Zimmer, I come up with other names, like:

    R. J. Homminez, and Roz J. Henimm.

"John Zimmer" is a tough name to work with, because there are so few vowels. If you give me your middle name, maybe I can come up with some better anagrams. (Hopefully, your middle name isn't "Xylgflurg" .)

The problem is, you either need a scrabble board (unless you can scramble the full names in your mind alone) or have to use a program. There are a couple of anagram generators online, but of course that way isn't nearly as much fun.

PS: Anyone who hasn't seen Sneakers should go out and rent it now!

Marian, a scrabble board? No need to be so hi-tech, a pencil and a bit of paper does the job just as well! Reminds me of a funny scene in the terrible DRACULA A.D. 1972, where Peter Cushing gets to work with pencil and paper on the name of the main vampiric suspect, Johnny Alucard. He writes down the name ALUCARD, and then laboriously begins to write the name backwards, even drawing lines between the letters in order to not get lost.
