I'm never to sure about buying CDs that have dialogue in with the score, as I've read this one does. And someone wrote a review (I think at filmtracks.com) that said after a while the music gets a little boring with its repetitiveness. So is it worth buying, or am I better off with the regular Varese release that I already have? And does the CD booklet contain anything interesting? If it's not worth it, perhaps someone would be nice enough to just summarize for me anything the booklet might say.

    Thanks.

I have the 20th Anniversary cd and I find, and I am not one for dialogue, that it adds a bit of spookiness to it. I don't remember if the dialogue is spoken over any music, but like someone said, it does get a little repetative so you don't miss much. As for the booklet, there is a note from John Carpenter about how he scored the movie and how important the music was to the film. he said an executive had screened the movie without the music and didn't find the movie very scary, but when she saw it with the music, she loved it.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to check it out I guess.

As for the booklet notes, it appears Varese just reprinted Carpenter's story, because the original Varese release I have has the same story.
