Some of you are Star Wars and X-Men fans, I'm REALLY BIG on Tolkien (as I plan to write fantasy novels someday, I'm a fan of pretty much anything that comes out of the genre.)So without further ado...I proudly honored myself as the unofficial Lord of the Rings countdown and news dude!!
So check it out....The official Lord of the Rings website www.lordoftherings.net has been redone with a beautiful new look and a interesting browser. Note Liv Tylor's eyes gracing the mainpage. Astounding!!
DL all the stuff and re-familiarize yourself with Tolkien's Middle-Earth!
Also check out an exclusive Real Audio on-the-set report!
Guys...this movie is going to be AWESOME! I'm anticipating this even more than I have any Star Wars or James Bond movie. Its been along time since we've seen a fantasy like this.

Yep, this definitely has the potential to be a great movie. Let's hope it fulfills the expectations of all of us Tolkien fans. Personally, I'm solely and excitedly awaiting the announcement of the composer.Jeron

I can't wait either. By the way, are there any dates that might be the release dates yet? Are they not planning on making all three in seccession (sp?)? Wow, these will be great!N.P. The World is Not Enough <****/*****>

These movies will hopefully bring a new seriuosness and validity to a genre that desperatly needs it.The last few fantasy movie attempts havn't been that good. DragonHeart other than having amazingly cool special effects and soundtrack sucked. The story was feeble, that poet/writer characther should have been eaten alive, and Dennis Quade, who usually has outstanding performances was a joke.
The 13th Warrior was semi-fantasy and I thought that was good...but I want to see Dragons and Monsters and Elves and armor that in real life is very very impractical but cool looking.(oh yeah and a kick ass soundtrack would be ok too

Being based on a game, I'm not holding high hopes, but I will be there to see Sean Bean. Give this guy an Oscar, a Golden Globe . . . ANYTHING!!!!NP: StarGate *****/*****

As far as I am concerned, this is the most anticipated movie EVER! I have read the book at least 8 times (and I'm only 21). If they really stay true to the original novel (as it fortunately seems to be), it will be AWESOME!robin4, from what I've read, the movies will be release in succession, with 2 months or so between each of them. I think it's all going to start in summer next year.
WOW!
