What scores can you recommend that have cool saxophone tunes?

I'm looking for some similar to the end credits of Above the Law, the Lethal Weapon movies, or even the score to Loaded Weapon 1.

NP: The Music Compilation, Part 1 (personal CD)

I'd personally would recommend these scores with cool sax tunes:

    The Russia House (Jerry Goldsmith)
    Clean Slate (Alan Silvestri)
Father of the Bride (Alan Silvestri)
The Whole Nine Yards (Randy Edelman)
The Odd Couple 2 (Alan Silvestri)
Lethal Weapon (Michael Kamen, Eric Clapton and David Sanborn)
    Cobb (Elliot Goldenthal)
Tequila Sunrise (Dave Grusin featuring David Sanborn)
    Bad Influence (Trevor Jones)
    Heavy Metal (Elmer Bernstein)
    Tootsie (Dave Grusin)
    Sea of Love (Trevor Jones)
    Rounders (Christopher Young)
    Absolute Power (Lennie Niehaus)
    The Spanish Prisoner (Carter Burwell)
Mad Dog and Glory (Elmer Bernstein)

I saw in the above list of soundtrack suggestions a listing for Clean Slate by Alan Silvestri. Has this soundtrack been released on cd? I collect Silvestri scores so I would be interested in any information about it

I don't have the entire John Scott SHOOT TO KILL -- don't even have the boot -- but the cover Scott conducted for the old Varese "Screen Themes" had a nice, brawny sax passage; maybe the rest of the score includes sax as well (barely remember the movie, let alone the score -- which was probably its best aspect).

I'm assuming that everyone else assumes it's redundant to mention Goldsmith's FOREVER YOUNG (a REALLY nice theme), not to mention Barry's BODY HEAT. But people can be forgetful, so I am mentioning them. I was impressed at the arcana the above posters were able to think of. I'll throw two in that're even more obscure, Akira Ifukube's BOSS OF THE UNDERWORLD and Masaru Sato's H-MAN (although the sax here doesn't really play a MELODY as such -- it's interesting how creepy you can make that usually so-mellow instrument sound. Silvestri's PREDATOR 2 has some fascinating sounds in it which I BELIEVE are distorted sax noises.)

NP: I don't know what the hell this is, actually, I downloaded it from the net sight unheard, as it were. Calls itself "A Walk In Jurassic Park" but it's clearly NOT from JURASSIC PARK. Kris Koon posted the link for it at the FSM board, and I'm rather enjoying it, but damned if I know what it IS.

Clean Slate hasn't been released on a bootleg that features both his unreleased scores to Overboard and Grumpier Old Men. It's a lengthy 12 minute suite and some the best Silvestri big band jazz he's written. I have this suite on 2 different albums in my collection and it's a definetly a score worth getting. As for Predator 2 are indeed correct my friend. Those are really weird detuned saxophone noises featured throughout the score and they add to very cool elements of Silvestri's underrated score for P2.

    Other worthy recomendations:
Glengarry Glen Ross (James Newton Howard)
The Fabulous Baker Boys (Dave Grusin)
    Titus (Elliot Goldenthal)
    Mumford (James Newton Howard)
Norma Jean and Marilyn (Christopher Young)
    Teaching Miss Tingle (John Frizzell)
One Fine Day (James Newton Howard)
    Red Heat (James Horner)
Whispers In The Dark (Thomas Newman)
This World, Then the Fireworks (Pete Rugolo)
    The Fugitive (James Newton Howard)
    48 Hours (James Horner)
    Afterglow (Mark Isham)
    Groundhog Day (George Fenton)
The Man Who Knew Too Little (Christopher Young)
    Terminal Velocity (Joel McNeely)
    Seven (Howard Shore)
    Cocoon the Return (James Horner)
    Cocoon (James Horner)
    Conspiracy Theory (Carter Burwell)
    Timecop (Mark Isham)

    Taxi Driver
is the quintessential sleazy sax score.
That moody dark sexy sound gets no better than this clasic film noir score
Body Heat has some good parts
and i especially love the sax in Snake eyes although there is not a lot of it.
Elloit Goldenthal makes wonderfull use of the sax but ususallly in a very harsh manner not sexy at all.

I suppose this is TOO obvious, But surely THE PINK PANTHER theme is just about the coolest sax theme EVER!

WATERSHIP DOWN by Angela Morley has some great, soaring sax solos -- not jazz, either! Very refreshing, considering that the sax has almost become cliche today. The rest of the score is great, too!
