Shaun, that made me laugh. Although I'm sufficiently nostalgic for that TYPE of sound that I might yet lay in PAYBACK. (i've had the original issue of PELHAM since it came out.)

Thank you all for your input. If they're interchangeable, then I will get whichever HURRICANE turns out to be cheaper (I have to buy everything Chris does, it's a loyalty thing.)

"Spaceballs", about 7 minutes of fine score by John Morris, and the rest songs. Probably the shortest representation of a score on a soundtrack CD ever. Got it from a friend who didn't want it any more. I remember reading at the FSM board that it is quite rare. Is that true?

Just got Hurricane. Fabulous score. It does have it's similarities to Murder in the First, though like JJH said, MitF is a superior score. But enough about MitF.

Hurricane: great blend of easy-to-listen-to orchestra and jazz. The song at the end is a great compliment to the score. The song at the beginning? Well, it's good - if you are a fan of Boys 2 Men. Who knows. I'm not a die-hard.

If you don't have this, get it! It's a wonderful cd to work to.

I've had the kind of month that I should NEVER have again. I went somewhat overboard with a raise I received at work, and, in addition to some significant classical purchases, have gotten soundtracks:

Anna and the King of Siam
    John Williams (Sony 2CD set)
    Legend of 1900
    Night Digger
    Krull 2CD set
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
    Into the West--Doyle
    Shipwrecked--Doyle
    JFK
    Cinderella Liberty (LP)
    Heidi--Williams LP
    Tom Sawyer--Williams LP
    Accidental Tourist LP
    Witches of Eastwick LP
    Sound Barrier--Sir Malcolm Arnold
    Carl Davis compilation
    Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf--North

And I even updated my cassette copies of these Patrick Doyle scores:

    Indochine
    Quest for Camelot
    Dead Again
    Much Ado About Nothing
    Frankenstein
    Carlito's Way

Altogether a fascinatingly regrettable, splendidly prodigal month. Don't repeat my errors.

    Just in:

PENELOPE / NOT WITH MY WIFE YOU DON'T (Williams):

A coupled disc of two nice and "sparkling" scores in Williams' 60's cocktail mode.

    ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU (Chang):

A bit disappointed by all the unneccesary non-score tracks (not all credited in the track listing), and a not-too-impressive, by-the-book ethnic score.

Rambo First Blood Part 2, "New Expanded Edition" (Jerry)

Never heard that one before, but read several good comments about it - and hey, it's Jerry!

Actually, I first thought it was the score to the first "Rambo" movie, as that one is called "Rambo" in the German version, and part #2 is called "Rambo II". Never seen any of them, though, and I doubt that I want to see them.

Got in the local supermarket last week, amongst the fruit and veg, and very cheap-

Daylight (Randy Edelman): On first listen, quite sort of good, though unsurprising.

Alien 3, or cubed, but I can't find the key for that: Goldenthal- splendid, though I'd to put my headphones on so as not to frighten the neighbours. Listen to it loud!

Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade: Williams of course, magnificent. The Raiders theme pops up infrequently, which is good for those who feel that familiarity breeds contempt.

Due to arrive: Hans Salter and David Raksin, plus some good books! I'll let you know when they arrive (as if anyone cared about MY happiness!)

Got in the local supermarket, between the fruit and veg, and very cheap...

Daylight (Randy Edelman): on first listen sort of good thogh unsurprising.

Alien 3, or cubed, Goldenthal: splendid. Listen to it loud, but put your headphones on so as not to frighten the neighbours.

Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade: Williams, of course. Great. The Raiders theme pops up infrequently, fine for those that think that familiarity breeds contempt.

Coming up: some goodies! I'll let you know!
