They do, but I am really good friends with the owner of a local record store and he generally lets me buy cds early. I actually bought the cds about 3 p.m. but have been at work so I wasn't able to listen to it yet. I also picked up Freedom Song by James Horner.Jasom

Unfortunately, the CD will not be available in Austria until the "Beginning of March". However, the guy from the CD store promised me they'll call me when it arrives, and for "Angela's Ashes" (Decca, yeah!) as well.NP: "The Ninth Gate" (Kilar, just bought).

Oh...my...God. I picked it up a few hours ago and am listening to it as I write. Man, what a piece of work. It flashes me back to when I went to see it in a local BIG theater. I ended up sitting on the far left side, so I couldn't get the effect of the credits head on, but when that music kicked in, it was one of the few times when I have observed a film audience cheering during the opening credits of a film.SUPERMAN has one of my all-time favorite movie/score scenes. I speak, of course, of "Leaving Home." The camera gliding over the wheat field with that music in the background...wow.

When the Superman "S" splashed across the screen, the audience broke into applause, as I remember it, too. To listen to the music underscoring this, with the LSO in full stride and the horns riding on top of the orchestra -- finally, after nearly 22 years -- is absolutely spine-tingling.posted 02-15-2000 03:25 PM PT (US)

Finally, this score has gotten the release it deserves. This CD has everything! Even laughs (tell me that the alternate version of "Can You Read My Mind" isn't one of the funniest things you've ever heard). NOW I can listen to this score without thinking about all the things I'm missing.
One caveat...
"Leaving Home" is one of my favorite cues as well. I was always annoyed at the distortion in the strings heard during the crescendo. I was hoping the remastering would make that a thing of the past, but it's still there...
A minor complaint, considering the overall package, but annoying just the same.posted 02-15-2000 05:18 PM PT (US)

What's not to love about this most incredible release? Finally the perfect release for one of the most amazing scores ever! And, just as you pull the CD out of the jacket, there is the man in blue in front of the American flag, truely one of the best and most patriotic pics ever taken!Actually, one small squabble. Where are the track times? But, that is a small price to pay (figuratively speaking-hey I got no income!), compared to the overall picture.

YES! This CD set is fantastic. I've been waiting for years for the complete Superman score, and it exceeded my expectations. Well done, Rhino! BTW, I didn't even have to pay that much for it. I had a gift certificate saved from Christmas, so this CD only cost me about $10 out-of-pocket. Glad I had the foresight.charben

Hi, Marcelo FerreyraDon't mention it, I am just glad to be of somewhat use.

I would have used the coupon myself as well, unfortunately my order was already in process with an $10 off coupon, when I had noticed those $15 ones.
Though I did use one to get Mr. Destiny and Jane Eyre though.

I have been to five different outlets and none oh 'em had the cd. Oh sure, they had stacks and stacks full of the old (incomplete) version but none of the new one. I am getting really annoyed here.I will try again, but if I still don't find it in the LA area, than you guys call 911, because I'll need it.

Dan -- small comfort, I know, but it will be worth the wait, believe me!!!!Listening to THE BIG RESCUE cue brought back memories of the first time I saw SUPERMAN. The house was packed. A couple was sitting in front of me. During the scene where Clark asks Lois if he can go with her to the airport and she replies, "Not unless you can fly," the girl in front of me gets up and leaves. Then comes the Helicopter rescue --nabbing the cat burglar and the bank robbers -- getting the cat out of the tree -- and saving Air Force One. Then, finally, in the middle of the luau scene in Lex Luthor's lair, the girl returns carrying popcorn and coke. As she sits down, she asks her boyfriend, "Did I miss anything?" He takes the popcorn from her and replies "No."

I would think this cd would be in stock everywhere. I had a hell of a time looking for it. I live in a town in Texas called Temple. On the 15th I went on my lunch break to Circuit City to buy it. They didn't have it, so I went to the mall. Both cd stores in the mall didn't have it either. After trying to explain to the salesperson about the cd and getting dumb looks I gave up. After work I drove 26 miles to another town and looked in Circuit City, Hastings super store, Camelot Music, Wherehouse Music, and the locas cd shop. More stupid looks and I dunno what you are talkin about. So I drove 60 miles north to Waco (I had to pass thru Temple to get there). Circuit City, Hastings, Best Buy, the store in the mall all got the same stupid looks and result; no Superman. So Wednesday after work I decide to drive to Austin, which is 60 miles south and go to a Cicuit City and there she is, SUPERMAN. So keep looking, the disc is out there somewhere. Boy the things we soundtrack collectors go thru.

I ran into the same problem. I went the weekend before to scout out where to get mine. When I went to Hastings, they said there distributor wasn't getting it (just like the TND Video Game and new release). But when I went to Best Buy, they said they'd have two. And anyways, theres was $3 less than Hastings would have been!N.P. Mag 7 <4.5/5>

All I do when I know I am going to want a cd that is coming out, I just go to my local cd store and tell them I want a certain cd when it comes out. They always make sure they order one for me and hold it until I get there. And like I said before, if they get it in early, they will sell it to me since I have been such a good customer. I don't know what I will do when I move, though I will be moving to a larger city.Jasom np-First Knight-Goldsmith

IT ARRIVED (with Tomorrow Never Dies videogame score)!!!!!!!You will not believe me when I tell you UPS wanted Ģ8.40 from me at the door though! If I didn't pay up I could not have the package! So I ran up stairs and grabbed my wallet, knowing I only had small change in there and fearing I did not have enough! However, I did, I did have enough (in my wallet was a total of Ģ8.70!!!) and am playing Superman now!!!!!!!!

Thereīs a big, almost like a department store, Sam Goody in downtown San Diego, and they didnīt have a single copy of it. I went to Target, just in case, but zero. Oh, man, Iīm dying here!
