Does anyone out there have the 2 cd score for Transformers the movie? I had a chance to buy it, but waited too long.

I've only seen the movie a couple of times and that was years ago. What is the soundtrack like? I have heard so many rave reviews for it from here and was just wondering what style, etc the music was in.

    thanks

If you are talking about the Botcon 97' release, it was recently reissued. Though have no idea if they have copies left.

    Just go to, http://www.botcon.com/

    Hopefully they still have it.

And yes it is great, I would love to see an more complete 2 CD set though. One that has both song and score. I guess someone could take what has been released and burn it.

That would be cool to have song and score. The only problem is CD length. the released score is 74 minutes as it is. and it doesnt have the three cues that appear on the soundtrack.
If you want to know what this gem of a score sounds like then rent the movie again and be 7 years old for a night again. you will have a great time.

That is what ticked me off about the Botcon release. I assumed that it was just music from the Transformers: The Movie, however the first disc is an kind of greatest hits CD of Stan Bush.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the first disc. But I was hoping for 2 CDs of music from the movie, such as song and score together. Since AFAIK between the Botcon and regular release, it is the complete soundtrack. Hence my comment that some one could burn the music into an 2 CD complete release, rather than having it separate between the two versions.

I think that the BotCon release was geared towards big "Transformers" fans, who would already have had the original album. However, I would also venture the guess that BotCon couldn't get the rights to release the material from the Scotti Bros. album... which also may be why the Stan Bush songs from the movie on Disc One are remixes.

Incidentally, I really like the score for this film, if not the way it was used in the film.
