Hey everybody,I want to slowly start getting the various parts of this site up as I get to them. For now, the initial MovieMusic.com database is ready to fly. There are about 2,000 soundtrack titles in it, listed by composer, label, year and genre. About 10% of them have multiple sound clips (just over 1,000 thirty-second .mp3 files available).
There will be some titles missing. The list that you see is mostly soundtracks that are currently in print. Eventually, I want to get every soundtrack (that was licensed for sale) in the database, in print or out. If you see glaring omissions, which there may be some, just point them out to me.
As for reviews, there aren't many at all. This will change soon, with your help! You will be able to submit your own review, assign your review a star rating, and pick your one favorite track off the CD. I'll let you know when this is going to happen (hint: very very soon!).
The database won't be linked off of the main page yet. Only those of you who read this post know where it is! To find the database, just type in "search" after the moviemusic.com url. For example: http://www.moviemusic.com/search/
So, get in there and have fun with this database. Also, if you are wanting to hear clips from any soundtrack that I haven't yet covered, let me know.
Happy surfing! Let me know what you think, from good to bad. I know one things for sure - this is the beginning, and it only gets better from here!!

Great job, PeterK!My only question is, how do we listen to the different soundtracks? Otherwise, great job and keep up the good work.
Doh, I almost forgot:

Looks great Boss. I can't wait for this place to be fully up and running. I don't think I'll have to visit another website ever!
I had a few observations about it, which I have sent you via e-mail.

Right now, the soundtrack clips are on the "tracklisting" page. Not all of the entrees have clips at this point - about 1 in 10. Once I get more of the design complete, the audio clips will be easy to locate. To play the clips, you must have WinAmp or some other mp3 player. Windows Media and RealPlayer are capable of playing the clips, but they must be configured right. Please post more comments as you think of them. The database you see now is in no way its complete form. Lots more to come...

I think you should have an "ALL"

Crono, try this:
http://www.moviemusic.com/search/titles.asp?All soundtracks on one page. Don't know why you'd want this, unless you like to scroll and scroll and scroll and scroll and scroll and scroll and... scroll!
Alwin, there will be the review section, indeed! It's coming.

Great work PeterK!! I really like the design! Was I right to think this site would be a place I could buy soundtracks sometime in the future? I hope so. Especially if you get a selection of older or out of print stuff. That would be cool.NP - Jephte, Carissimi

Top Stuff, PeterK. That must have been a lot of work! Wow, I'm impressed. In fact, I think I may even start to write some reviews, so that I can submit them to you as soon as you're ready for them. Great! One thought - would running times be possible?

Yes, including running times is very much on the agenda. As for submitting reviews, I want to get this done first, so everyone can jump in there and write about their favorites. If things go well, I should have this ready in the next couple of days!PeterK

PeterK,It looks awesome man, keep up the good work. I love the "find messages" option too. I looked up Waterworld and did a "find messages", it was hilarious, it found 32 messages and 18 of them were posted by me. Does that qualify as an addiction?

PeterK,
Really apectacular job. It seems from what you said, this list is aiming at complete.I also found the sound quality of the clips awesome. In fact, I'm now playing my CD of the clip I downloaded earlier on the computer, and it doesn't sound as good as your clip!
BTW, Quicktime by Apple also plays the clip. Quicktime player is also available for Windows at the Apple site.

My Compliments!!!

This looks really great
One thing you missed...
There is no listing for the greatest compser ever...
VINCE DiCOLA
He scored transformers the movie and Rocky 4 and those soundtracks are still in print (they are not all score but hey - there is a full score of Transformers to be ordered at Botcon.com)
really, this omission is a travesty which I demand be rectified immediately
One more thing I noticed...
There is no post here from Jeron.
Usually with something like this you would expect Jeron to be posting high praise all over the place "Let's all give Peter a hand for a site well done. come guys -HURRAY!"
But, alas - where is Jeron with all of his solidarity?
I take you off the pedestal you once occupied

I've been having some "rough times" here the past couple of days w/ school and thoughts of my prospective future. I've already personally discussed the new feature w/ Peter and yes, I did compliment it highly. Forgive me if I'm absent in my responses as of late. This may continue for the next few days.Jeron

Cole, Greg, James, Scott, Audacity, thanks for the compliments. Like I said, it only gets better. If you think this is good, just wait!Cole, Vince DiCola is now in the database! See? The word is yours. Speak up and your word is done!
I will be adding the member review section today - this will be exciting, as we will also slowly begin to develop the MovieMusic member area. The days are here!

Well, leave for a week and look what you find. This new feature is great and I know it will get better and better!I have been extremely busy with the scoring of a few things, so my post output has been "very low."
PeterK, do I just email you the reviews I select to write?
Keep up the awesome work! This site is like a second home and we like the extra rooms you are adding!

Time to start submitting your favorite reviews! All you need to do is find the soundtrack you want to review, click "Member Reviews" and have your way with it!
http://www.moviemusic.com/search/The reviews are emailed to me, I will immediately incorporate them into the site after a quality control check. If your review doesn't appear within a day or two, just send me an email. Have fun!
