Can't get it outta my head.

Track 26 -Fight for Camelot on the "First Knight (expanded)" is FLABBERGASTING. WOWWW!!! This release albeit a boot is far far far far far (okay you get the point) more superior than the commercial Sony!

Which brings me to the following topic. Williams had a similar approach to this in "Star Wars -Episode1/Duel of the fates". In all honesty, these two rival each other on every level. I am not sure who was the first composer to score a battle scene with choir/orchestra chanting some ancient dialect...... But It's an absolute sure hit.

In this instance, I am sorry to say tha t Goldsmith's battle scene (track 26) is superior to "Duel of the Fates". Even the sound quality really pushes the orchestra/choir ensemble to the front, popping out of all of my 5 speakers.
The fury, God, I love you Jerry! I am sure that a lot of orchestra members broke out in a sweat trying to keep up with Mr. Goldsmith.
    The adrenaline! WOW!

Also, how many of you out there think that the Sony Todd-AO Studio's has bad accoustics.? All scores recorded in that studio have a muffled sound to it. I know it's not the digital master's fault.

    Count:
Bicentennial Man (Todd AO Scoring studio)
Deep Impact (Todd AO Scoring studio)
Star Wars Episode 1 (Todd AO Scoring studio)
and more........ Just have to check my database.

I think Ep 1 sound is fine.

I don't why people gripe about it.

To me, it's supposed to sound more atmospheric and it does just that. good disc, even if we didn't get all that we wanted in the way of a full release.

Anyway, it certainly sounds better than the other 3 Star Wars scores.

My favorite mixture of song and chants was in the film "Zulu." I was rather disappointed when I bought the CD and it didn't have the Zulu chants on it -- as advertised. (I learned to my chagrin that Barry had composed music "based on" the chants.)

If nothing else, I'd like the chant of the last battle as it was counter-pointed by the "Men of Harlech" song.

    Smashing stuff.

This is a semi-epic battle. But the track Battle of the Mounds from the Conan soundtrack is very cool.

    Hey Foobs,

What is the length of that track from First Knight that you are talking about? On my First Knight Complete track 26 has a different name.

    Thanks,
    Audacity
