Does anyone know when Varese Sarabande will be releasing the score to Dragonheart 2?

    Sean Robert Abbey

The Dragonheart sequel is coming straight to video sometime soon (maybe its out now, I'm not sure).

It was scored by Mark McKenzie (Durango, Frank and Jesse, Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde, The Disappearance of Garcia Lorca,...)

I'm pretty excited about it, I'm a big fan of McKenzie.

And being direct-to-video, I think we all know just how cheasey those effects are going to be.

Does anyone know who the star is? Obviously not Dennis Quaid, whose great (and extremely underrated) career has - thankfully - not resorted to DTV appearances.

The effects are rumored to be quite good, actually. I believe ILM or another just-as-good effects company (Blue Sky?) will be doing them. They looked good on the trailer.

At last report the film wasn't going to be released until this summer.

The Soundtrack should appear around the same time according to Mark McKenzie.

Though lacking Sean Connery, "Dragonheart 2" looks to be at least as good as, if not better than the original. I am a little partial to it, but I saw a preview on the Widescreen "Mummy" video tape--the story looks better, and the effects are equal. The dragon, Drake, is younger and smaller, but looks like the original Draco.

After purchasing McKenzie's "Durango", I have every faith that he is capable of composing a grand and fitting score, and I look highly forward to it.
