Ok, so I got the idea for this post from Jeron's post about The Mummy 2, big deal.

I heard rumors of some other cool sequels that are being considered, wonder what the scores will be like to these.

    Total Recall 2
Imagine Jerry expanding on the great music he composed for the first one. I wonder if Paul Voerhoeven will Temp the second one with Conan: The Destroyer and make Jerry write a score that sounds unmistakably like it. If Jerry can't do it though there is only one man that could, James Newton Howard, I would love to see that.

Terminator 3 and True Lies 2
I for one really liked the music Brad Fiedel wrote for the previous movies, but seriously is he even alive any more, what has he done lately? I think Alan Silvestri would compose a great score for the next Terminator installment, or maybe Basil. I would like to see John Powell come out from under his rock to score True Lies 2, that would be interesting. The first True Lies was a little slapstickish in its over the top action scenes, so maybe someone like Marc Shaiman is needed to write a score that has that "I know this is action but I can't stop laughing cause that could never happen" sound.

I for one second Audacity. I like the music Brad did for the Terminators and True Lies. True Lies has some great orchestral action cues. I mean Terminator 2 has some great action cues as well, but mostly synth. It was nice to have him score for a large orchestra. By the way, does anyone have his score for Serpent and the Rainbow? If so, how is this score. It's been so many years since I've seen the movie, I don't even remember.

I'm all for Silvestri to score "True Lies 2." I like Fiedel's action cues, but the rest really isn't that good. And though his action music is pretty good, I think Fiedel's strong point is writing mood music. Just listen to "T1" and "T2."

Also, bring back John Debney for "I Know What You Did . . . 3." Fizzel's music for "I Still Know . . . " was okay, but Debney's was perfect. I'd love to see him expand on his original ideas.

Re: TOTAL RECALL 2: the last I heard, Jonathan Frakes was in talks to direct this. Since Goldsmith has scored his only other two films, I'd bet he'd be Frakes' first choice even if Goldsmith HADN'T done the original RECALL.

I am also very glad to see Frakes directing, but I don't think you can automatically assume Goldsmith will score cause he scored Frakes only other two movies. I mean they were both Star Trek Movies of course Jerry is gonna score them, did Frakes even have any say in it? Don't get me wrong I would love if Jerry did Total Recall 2, but you never know.

Well, we know from Frakes' own words that he LOVED working with Goldsmith, so I'd tend to assume that he'd want to do so again, especially since Goldsmith did the first one.

In case you didn't know: Director (!) William Shatner was the one who demanded Goldsmith score STAR TREK V, because, as he put it, "When you're in a position to hire the best, then why not hire the best?"

But who will score Die Hard 4, it isn't gonna be Michael Kamen or is it. Who's gonna score Hannibal, the Silence of the Lambs follow up. Will it be Howard Shore. Wait and see?
Who'll score Mission Impossible 3? Not Zimmer lol

If Ridley Scott will continue as director of HANNIBAL, then I'd imagine he'll go for Hans Zimmer.

I still say that if HANNIBAL is to be made at all, then it has to be BOTH Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins, or NEITHER of them. Hopkins is apparently aboard, and Foster is passing, no matter all the stretching they've done to make the script to her liking.

But why does the thing have to be made right away? Why not wait until her schedule is clear? It's worth it, I think.

I would love ot see Hopkins eat people again, but Hannibal is gonna blow due to crappy plot, I did not like the book, Hannibal that is, so i give Foster props for not joining the hype, Even though one is going to be made, I really want to see another Indiana Jones with Ford and Connery, luckily that will probably happen, not only is William's score one of the best, wait, the best adventure score, but the movies rock, and they are pure entertainment.

I saw Bruce Willis say he doesn't want to play that type of character anymore, one who lights up a cigarette and cracks a joke after killing someone.

But supposedly, the script for "Die Hard 4" had McClane and some friends being used as human prey in a "Most Dangerous Game"-style hunt set in South America. It was supposed to be very weapon-free, with McClane relying on his wits instead of an AK-47 and a rocket launcher. Could be very interesting. But if Willis doesn't wanna do another one, they could just make it as a different movie.

(Actually, the script was adapted to fit the McClane character, as it was originally written as it's own film, with different characters and a different title).

I'd like to see the 5th 'Alien' movie to have massive action scenes. Of course, rendering them by computer will take away the mystique of the alien creatures, but I'd like to see Alien 5 as a war movie. Can you just picture a huge swarm of Aliens attacking?

In regards to other sequels, I wanna see Terminator 3, Bad Boys 2 and The Rock 2.

I heard that "Alien 5" (to be co-written/co-produced by Sigourney Weaver) was going to take place on Earth, supposedly with greedy government types producing aliens to use as weapons of war. A very cool idea. "Alien" is one of my favorite series (yes, even #3 has it's moments), so I'm all for a fifth one.

Ya know what's funny ... when they were first kicking around ideas for ALIEN 2, that was one of the main ones!

If the usual suspects do come back, I hope Walter Hill gets more involved in the script end of things. He didn't contribute to ALIEN RESURRECTION, and it shows.

I hope we'll see Lance Henriksen again. After all, he was the only one not killed off in ALIEN3 (well, the original android was trashed, but another clone popped up at the end, albeit not of the benevolent kind...). He's such an excellent and underrated actor.

Yes, the great Lance Henriksen. You know, when Henriksen was doing ALIEN 3, he took the attitude that Bishop II was not the man who created Bishop, as the character insists -- in fact, it's probably physically impossible -- and Henriksen additionally felt that Bishop II was less "human" than the original Bishop.

Henriksen didn't even want to do the part, but Walter Hill prodded him into it. I think it worked out for the best. (I love his line upon being reactivated as Bishop I: checking out Ripley's new 'do, he says "I like your new haircut.)

It'd be nice to see a Bishop III. Or, considering that by the time of ALIEN 5, probably another 500 years will have passed somehow, Mr. Henriksen could play a great-great-great descendant of the Man who Made Bishop. There's a lot you could do with a storyline like that. But that's just off the top of my head.
