From some of the postings, I understand that a few of you have purchased the TND Video game score CD. I was wondering whether it's worth getting. I have the game, but am unsure about whether it's worth getting. Also, I understand that there is a new song on there - what's that like, how does it compare to the two we know?np Mars Attacks! Hey, this is my 100th post. Cool! [This message has been edited by Pete M (edited 25 January 2000).]

I'm really satisfied with the music. I have a biased opinion, though. Why? Because I think the Bond theme is one of the best, most brilliant themes ever to be devised - and this cd makes heavy use of it. Tomorrow Never Dies, as by David Arnold, is one of my favorite scores. David Arnold is one of my very favorite composers. Tommy Tallarico, composer for the music in the TND Game, makes use of some of Arnold's motifs and as Ford Thaxton put it (in one way or another), Tallarico skillfully integrated the theme into the music. It's techno oriented - nothing sweeping, so if you buy this cd, buy it knowing you are purchasing a cd w/ adrenaline pumping tunes through and through. I would NOT rank this among the best of game scores, but heck - it's got the Bond theme in there and pays a nice tribute to the genre we've all come to love. That's good enough for me. The song.... well.... I'm glad they put that at the end. It *might* have been good if they picked someone worthy of singing a Bond song... instead, they picked (from what I can tell) a no-namer who sounds like a practiced amateur at best. Also, when I refer to it as a "Bond Song," I only say this because it just happens to incorporate the Bond theme in an interesting, if not entertaining way. Don't let it scare you away from purchasing the cd, though. It's interesting to listen to, as it does incorporate a neat background melody... you just have to tune out the foreground. =) In the end, it's not anything that will sweep you off your feet or knock you off balance, but it's fun to listen to. But that's the point of it all anyway... right? Hope this helps. It's what Goldeneye could have been if Sierra had any respect for the past. Would it have killed him to throw the Bond theme in once in a while? Was Tallarico also a composer for the Viper tv show?

Yeah. Goldeneye was a heaping mound, wasn't it? Good game, however. Can't say much about TND, though. I really do want to see that movie. I doubt I'm as much a James Bond fan as Jeron is, though. --Ted

Hey I loved the TND video game soundtrack. It is not as good as David Arnold's score, but than again I doubt anyone was or is excepting it to be so. Though I know it's not for everyone, I suggest it to anyone who likes video game music in general. Has anyone liked Batman Beyond? If so than get this as well. Actually if you like those synth heavy Zimmer and Zimmer clone scores than this is right up your alley. As a matter of fact I just listened to the TND game score. I just hated it. Nothing orchestral in it. It just sounds like one of those regular fighting game scores with some Bond tunes in it. I'd listen to it before you buy it. I couldn't compare this score with any movie score. Goldeneye by Serra is a lot better but I didn't like it either.I wouldn't compare this techno-style score with any music Zimmer ever wrote. The TND game soundtrack makes me ask why even bother to release it. BTW: I'm a great fan of Zimmer and co. This is just my humble opinion.

Oh well..........Some people are gonna hate it, some people are gonna have mixed feelings, and then, some people are going to love it. The exact same thing went for Titanic... and of course, it still applies. Jeron PS - I have a 9 minute suite of the music prepared for anyone who would like a sampling of what's on the disc.
