I'd thought that Jerry Goldsmith was due to score this John Frankenheimer thriller, & the upcoming movies section at FSM lists it as one of his. However, I just visited IMDB, & they have it credited to Alan Silvestri. Does anyone what the story is, & who is actually scoring the film?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I will tell you that I stopped trusting IMDB a long time ago. They seem to post any rumor without investigating it first, maybe they have gotten better though.Audacity

Somebody posted this information on MovieMusic.com a while ago, and the source was not IMDb... I don't know where it was from, but it was something else. I'm disappointed Goldsmith is/mightbe leaving, but I'm glad to see Silvestri back in this kind of movie.

I thought they changed the name too - to something with DECEPTION - a real setback!

Yes it's true Goldsmith left the project and Silvestri has taken over scoring duties.Goldsmith also left Frankenheimer's last project RONIN,so I guess the two of them had different ideas on the direction of music for the films.

Premise: An ex-con (Ben Affleck) trying to go clean is conned back into a life of crime in a scheme to knock over a casino during the Christmas holidays. The title was changed to Deception for a while, but it has been changed back to Reindeer Games, which is much more interesting.
I meant that I'm glad Silvestri is getting away from the cute little children's stories... not that I dislike his scores for those movies (Mouse Hunt, Parent Trap, Stuart Little, etc.), it's just that RG should be more refreshing.
