I just found the following CD's going quite cheap, & was wondering if anyone had them, & whether they were any good - & thus, should I buy them?
    Dragonheart - Randy Edelman
    6 Day, 7 Nights - Randy Edelman
    101 Dalmations - Michael Kamen
    True Blue - Stanislas Syrewicz
    Karaoke/Cold Lazarus - Christopher Gunning

Dragon Heart is definately a nice score. And 101 Dalmations is a very good score also. One of Kamen's better ones. 6 Days, 7 Nights is o.k. Not great, but not bad. It's listenable. The other two I'm not familiar with. But definately Dragon and Dalmations.

    Hi Pete!

I'd definitely go for the KARAOKE / COLD LAZARUS disc. I've been looking for this one myself. It's a dark and futuristic score (especially the latter) complementing similarly dark and foreboding visuals from the TV-series based on Dennis Potter's final script. Superbly performed by the LSO. Also some heavy jazz influences in places...

    Best,

    TJ

101 Dalmatians is definitely one you should get! It's out-of-print, too, so get it if you have the chance. It's one of my favorite Kamen scores.

6 Days and 7 Nights is a pretty drab score. Randy Edelman is known for composing solid main themes, but there is not one here. It sounds like the music is constantly building up to a grand theme that never comes.
