How many times in the month do you update your collection by buying new scores?I myself go shopping every week and spend an average of $35.

Oooh, what's it like to be rich????
I have to limit myself to maybe a few times a month. I'm kinda picky about what and when I buy, so many times I'll let something slide for a while to save money now.
For instance, I begged off on a few CD's so I can have money for the upcoming Superman set, but also I have found some good deals on Ebay. In fact, I didn't have "Tomorrow Never Dies" or "Con-Air" but I found bother of them on Ebay for ~$6 and ~$4 respectively.
Some things I'll try to get right away, like the upcoming "Galaxy Quest" promo.

I might get two CD's a month, though more if I find cheap second-hand ones, or have much money due to Birthday/Christmas etc.

Dr. Evil, er Mr. Ferrari:Welcome to MovieMusic.com, where we never worry about becoming a ghost town.
Mainly because we post intelligent, insightful, thought-provoking comments that actually make sense -- unlike another site I've heard about.

Now, Marc! Don't knock FSM! It used to be cool! Now it's turned into a ghetto as of late, but like I said, it USED to be a place where we all shared a common interest and lived in peace and harmony. Then a couple of shady characters happened upon the place and on top of THAT the whole 1999 to 2000 thing screwed the site up royally, so now it's quite the "crackhouse of film score discussion sites". One day, I hope that they rebuild it and it becomes a palace again. I'm paraphrasing City Hall, for God's sake. What's WRONG with me?Shaun

Welcome Shaun:You are positively right. I shouldn't condemn a whole grop of people on the posting of one guy. I should also have noticed that he didn't get much support in his rant, and that soon after a bunch of ya'll migrated over here.
To all former FSMers -- welcome! We look forward to your participation.

Greetings, one and all.
This is my very first visit to this lovely site, the existence of which I just learned about today.
Yes, I'm one of the FSM Message Board Irregulars, and darn proud of it.
That site has fallen on hard times, but it's only temporary, I'm sure.
To answer the question, I purchase one or two new CD's each month to add to my collection.

Chris,
sir, welcome to this grand site.
We are quite a bunch here. The debates can get very heated, but we always remember one thing. We love film music and respect each other and we all have a great sense of humor which is important to me personal since I am a clown most of the time and probably was God's practical joke to world. Either that or a punishment.Be that as it may, we hope you'll become a regualr here which doesn't mean you have to stop going to the other site. I do hope that site picks up since you are so proud of it.
By the way , if we have offended you in any way I will take this moment to apologize.
Good to have you hear,

Not to worry; it's pretty difficult to offend me. I've been flamed by the best of 'em, and it never burns my hide.

Well, it fluctuates vastly - last november I got something like 25 CD's - either ordered online (through e-bay and aquaintances) or in shops. Now, however, I haven't received a new score since medio december.

Well, I usually don't limit myself money wise, that's what credit cards are for. According to my roommate: "It's only money!"
I just bought three cds the other week, but before that, it has been a couple of months. If a soundtrack peaks my interest, I buy it. I know that one of my next purchases will be the upcoming Superman release.Jasom

Since Net buys don't count I'd have to say about once every 10 years.
Seriously though, each year I do about 90-99% of my purchases online. So I figure I go about once every 2-4 months, sometimes more, sometimes less. Though when I do I might get no more than 1-3 CDs, definitely not spending more than $50-75 at the very most. Let me put it this way, if I were to buy 100 CDs in an year, no more than 5-10 would have been purchased in an regular store.
Hey! What can I say, I am of the Credit Card Age.

Well The fact that CDs are so much cheaper online helps as well. Let me ask an couple questions, first off which off-line stores have the cheapest prices? And second why don't more off-line stores sell them less? I'd think they would do so, just to get more people like me "who no longer buy from them, because of the prices" to come back and do so.
I must admit that it *is* great to go to the local mall, walk around looking at stuff,
have some lunch and pick up an few CDs. However in my case it is too much of an
hassle to do so, except on certain occasions.

I am a scattershot sort. Let's see....there's Virgin Megastore; Tower Records; Zia, Replay, Eastside, and Rockaway used CD's markets; even the Disney store on occassion. If online buys/bids don't count, I still do probably about 35-40% of my buying the old-fashioned way -- to the tune of about $40 a week.
All the schooling, planning, budgeting, and intervention in the world has prevented me from basically staying employed to serve my addiction(s). DVD's & CD's quake with fear when I pass....as does the checkbook.

Well than, I'd have to say more often than I'd care to admit.
Actually, I Place several orders an month, but that is always fluctuating, so It might be 5 orders one month, than 7 the next month sort of thing. However, I can say that on average I'll spend between $100-$200 an month. Which equals to about 4-10 CDs.
It really counts on the deals I find online. Since I use a lot of the CDNOW $10 off links, I have been buying quite an bit more of late.
BTW, is anyone else find that storage for the discs is an pain in the ***?

Gots ta up my weekly total to about the $100 range -- IF the right stuff can be had. My collection is only 200 or so....a good many of the readily available titles are already there. I find that nowadays I 'net a lot for the CHERRY 2000's, RUNAWAY's, & so on. When something appears, my checking balance disappears!
Take away DVD purchases & I'm probably at $50 per week purely on soundtrack CD's.....which probably means that I need professional help.

Once again I am late, but so what?
I usually buy two to three scores every month. Money doesn´t hang on the trees you know (maybe they will when I get a decent job?), so I have to be carefull.
Once in a while I will order like ten scores from amazon.com if I just got my paycheck and have some money to spend...
