    The state song is "Texas Our Texas" not the same as Giant, but there are some melodic similarities. I don't know how, but I'll try to do some research to see if Tiomkin borrowed orif the state borrowed from Tiomkin.

    Regarding ZULU: My brother and I stayed for a second viewing of the movie and waited until Chelmsford ordered his men to abandon the ferry so we could march out of the theater to the music.

    Regarding Hogan's Heroes -- Great drum cadence at the beginning -- used it a couple of times in high school band (along with "George of the Jungle" beat when I could get my hands on the tympani mallets).

    Other notes -- still play "Victory at Sea" on occassion; Best part of "Strangelove" is the "Johnny Came Marching Home" arrangement in "The Bomb Run."

    Great memories from this thread.
