    Hi,
Him being one of my favourite composers, I just wanted to know if any of you knew who he is? Just out of curiosity, and if you do know who he is...
what are your favourite Koji Kondo scores?

    Hey there Cenzo,
I have never heard of Kondo tell I heard his Zelda64 OST and boy does it suck. And where did the Zelda theme go? Did he do the other Zelda scores? I love those, but Z64 just sucked.

I thought the music from Z64 was pretty good, especially compared to other games. And as far as the game is concerned, my absolute fave.

    Well,
Koji Kondo is the amazing composer of Nintendo games since Super Mario Bros. back in 1983. He has composed such masterpieces as:

    Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 2 (only the ending music)
    Super Mario Bros. 3
    Super Mario World
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Super Mario RPG (only certain parts)
    Super Mario 64
    Super Mario Kart
    Mario Kart 64
    Mario Party
    Mario Party 2
    Super Smash Bros.
    Star Fox
    Star Fox 64
    Legend of Zelda
Legend of Zelda: the Adventures of Link
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
    and many other various games

His games have all had soundtrack releases in Japan and even some arranged CDs(which are amazing). Unfortunately most of the American releases of his soundtracks have been less than mediocre (namely Zelda:OOT), but the soundtracks to Super Mario 64 and Star Fox 64 were great.
And I have this one CD that features Zelda OOT done by a symphony. I think it's amazing.

And Crono I agree that the sound quality of the original soundtracks(such as Zelda) aren't great, but the composition is great.^_^

See, Link to the Past OST rulled! I wish the Zelda theme was used in Z64.

Now for the real stuff: Ever hear Final Fantasy VI or VII? Ever hear Chrono Trigger?

Well seeing as I don't like RPGs, I've never played any Final Fantasy games, but I have heard a few cool clips from it, and my Mario RPG soundtrack has three Final Fantasy track like the "du du du du, du, du, du du du" music when you beat a boss.
Actually there's this store in my city that is selling a set of 4 Final Fantasy VI CDs, I want to get them, but they're 30 bucks each.
Anyway, I still like Mr. Kondo's stuff like Mario, Zelda, and Star Fox more...^_^

Hehe, Chrono Trigger's great for a Super Nintendo soundtrack. It tries to create cool themes and stuff, despite coming from a Super Nintendo MOD synthesizer. Chrono Trigger really tried to push the abilities of the Super Nintendo synthesizer when it wasn't pushing the abilities of the super nintendo processor and cartridge storage space itself.

Oh, and Mario music suuuuucks... what's wrong with you people?

PS... saw a trailer for Chono Cross a month ago. Nooooooooooooo why must it be computer rendered? The Playstation release of Chrono Trigger had full, hand-drawn animated cut scenes, but why must Chrono Cross resort to trendy computer graphics? Aaaahghgh!

    Harsh words, harsh words.

I would do a mad face, but....it's just not me.

Hey now, come on Cenzo. Let's not get all made just because Sean is expressing his opinion. SFT doesn't grip me out cause I'm not the biggest Elfman fan... and neither should you because Sean has his own personal preferences and ideas.

Let's keep the message board friendly and full of open opinions. A friend told me variety is the spice of life... I think that's very true.

What? Why does everybody act like I've just commited some wreched crime? Mario 1 has some beep duets. Mario 64 contains some generic jazz/pop for kids. Really, there's better music out there.
