I came acrost some info that has excited me because I am a Elfman fan.The elfman site "Music for a darkened people" reported that Danny has reached a tentative agreement to score X-man. The films original composer John Ottman reportely is to bust to do 2 films the other one he is working on is Urbal Legend 2.There is no final word yet who will be the composer but it sounds good that Elfman will be the guy? Also it said Elfman could make 1 million dollars composing x-men.

Well, I just read this from the Cinescape website...

    quote:
    Ottman Won't Score X-Men
When speaking to Cinescape managing editor Annabelle Villanueva about his directorial debut Urban Legend 2--The Final Cut, John Ottman--best known as X-Men director Bryan Singer's longtime editor and composer--revealed that he most likely will not be able to score X-Men because of his commitments to Urban Legend. "My schedule is colliding with X-Men," Ottman said. "[But] they moved their release date up to June 30 now, and I'm still going to be finishing my film up probably at the end of April. So it's very crushing for both me and Bryan. We're really going through a lot of emotion about it because we're sort of joined at the hip; we work really well together and we were both looking forward to my doing this for a year and a half. But it looks like the writing on the wall is that it may not happen now. It's going to kill me."

Ottman was far more cheerful when discussing the upcoming Urban Legend sequel. He says that with the exception of a minor recurring character, the movie will feature an entirely new cast and does not follow up the plot of the original. "Urban legends are woven through the story but they're not as much in the forefront as in the last film," he says. "But it's really more of a thriller/mystery/Hitchcockian movie than pure urban legends."

So it's really all up in the air right now. And as for Elfman, who knows.

    Kevin

I should have known that would have pissed SFT off. I just don't think Elfman has done anything good for a long time, I have yet to hear Sleepy Hollow though. In the movie it sounded like a great score, I will have to listen to it seperate from the movie.

Its just that recently Ottman has been doing better stuff than Elfman, plain and simple.

What to say? Is it "plain and simple" that Ottman has been doing better work than Elfman lately? According to you, maybe. But I would like to know, just what exactly you feel is "poor" about Elfmans work, before I can make any comments, thanks.

First off I am not going to get into yet another "Elfman is God" arguement. When I say Elfman has been doing poor work, of course it is according to me. I don't claim to speak for anyone else, I was just pointing out my opinion. I have nothing against Elfman, he has done many great scores that I like a lot. I just personally like Ottman better, and think he is a better composer.

Next time I will say, "In My F@#%ing Humble Opinion".

I was´nt trying to start an "Elfman is God" argument. But when you state "Its just that recently Ottman has been doing better stuff than Elfman, plain and simple" it sure as hell does´nt sound like "your humble opinion"(!)

Anyway, we´ve had way worse aguments than this. Let´s just be freinds...

Sounds good to me, we will just drop it.

    SFT,
I know I'm late but your psychic line was a classic. I laughed so hard I started coughing for hours. In fact, I have to avoid thinking about it because it'll just start me all over again.

As far as Elfmann and Ottman are concerned? Both suck!!!!!

    Scott

(That last line is to be taking jokenly)
