Well, you beat me to the punch, but I'm glad somebody brought it up. And in case anybody cares, the nominations for best song are:

BEAUTIFUL STRANGER - Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
HOW CAN I NOT LOVE YOU - Anna and the King
    SAVE ME - Magnolia
WHEN SHE LOVED ME - Toy Story 2
YOU'LL BE IN MY HEART- Tarzan

As far as songs go, I think "When She Loved Me" should win. It's one of few songs that actually furthers the story. Of course, I won't feel too bad it "You'll Be in My Heart" wins, because I liked the song and the film.

For score, what's the deal with NINE nominations? There must have been a LOT of ties in the nominations. I'm really glad to see "Legend of 1900" up there. It's really a fantastic score. Of course, the film was only in limited release, and didn't get a lot of play, so it's not going to win.

I find it quite humorous that with all the hype surrounding Star Wars: Episode I, it wasn't nominated for one GG award. I would have at least thought Williams' score would be up for something.

Well, I didn't see any of the films nominated in the score category, so I can't tell you if these scores are better than the ones I heard. But I do wish at least one of the scores I liked would have made it.

Perhaps the nominators just didn't go out and see the movies I saw. Of the 10 best pictures (combining drama and comedy/musical) I only saw two of the nominated pictures. Only Toy Story 2 would have made my top 10 list -- and not for the score, either. The music was nice, but I'm not going to buy the soundtrack.

I guess I'll just vote with my wallet.

    Marc

My point exactly...what the HELL are Eyes Wide Shut and Anna and the King doing in the score category!!!???
These spots easily belonged to The World Is Not Enough and Toy Story2!

I'm all for Morricone and Thomas Newman. I'd be happy if either one of them won. I haven't heard Nyman's 'End of the Affair' yet.

For those of you who have it, is Green Mile good enough to be nominated?

Also, where is For Love of the Game?
