Since I am partisan to the James Bond series and I cannot stop listening to it... I have to say that my favorite (best) score of 99 would have to be THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH. It is the best Bond score I have heard in a long time.I would also include THE PHANTOM MENACE, EYES WIDE SHUT, and SLEEPY HOLLOW to this list.

I have to say:1. Phantom Menace -- John Williams
2. Sleepy Hollow -- Danny Elfman
3. The Green Mile -- Thomas Newman
4. Angelas Ashes -- John Williams
5. Cider House Rules -- Rachel Portman
Honorable mentions -- American Beauty (T. Newman), 13th Warrior (J. Goldsmith), Durango (M. McKenzie), The Sixth Sense (J.N. Howard), Being John Malkovich (C. Burwell).
I have yet to hear Fentons' "Anna and the King", Howards "Snow Falling on Cedars", Horners "Bicentennial Man" or Debneys "End of Days", but apart from these, this is the final list of my favorites of the year.

STAR WARS EPISODE I: THE PHANTOM MENACE(Johnny boy)
Since I haven´t seen or heard a lot of movies this year, I´m trusting in some people, and my own experience with maestro Jerry and his two epic, symphonic works:THE 13th WARRIOR
and THE MUMMY.NP. Pops Around the World: Digital Overtures(John Williams/The Boston Pops Orchestra)
PS. Since this is one of my last messages this year, I wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy New Century, and since the world is coming to an end, maybe we´ll get a chance to meet in hell

Two I'd pick are "October Sky" or "The Legend of 1900." Those aren't the only two, but I'm trying to be different.

I can't say what is 'best', only what I have enjoyed the most and been inspired by. At this point in time, the standout of the year for me has been...For Love Of The Game (Poledouris)
P.S. I doesn't surprise me that this wouldn't be other's top choice. What does surprise me though is the total absence of this score from people's lists.

Let's see.I've only purchased 4 scores from 1999 movies, so here goes my top 3 (an arbitrary cut-off, I suppose) -
3)The World Is Not Enough
2)Deep Blue Sea
1)The Thin Red Line (The movie first played in'98, but the CD came out in '99)The other was Sleepy Hollow, but I just can't seem to get into the mood to listen to it. Any suggestions for a good listening experience?
